Scorchlight scampered past the frozen, icy-cold rivers. The leaf-fall sun was long gone, yet flowers were starting to bloom, hinting at the start of new-leaf. With the fresh-kill pile being bare, she had taken it upon herself to go hunting. Fortunately, the river next to Sunningrocks wasn’t frozen for now. She saw a pike darting in the water and jabbed at it with unsheathed claws. The pike laid motionless in the water. After she had successfully caught it, she picked it up and placed it next to her, hoping she could catch more prey.

Scorchlight successfully caught a pike! -5 SP

Scorchlight set the pike down by Sunningrocks and noticed a mouse weaving its way past ferns. She was so used to fish and frog that she was tempted to take more than one piece of prey back to camp. She crouched, hiding herself in the weeds that hadn’t died to the harsh leaf-bare weather, and waited for the moment to strike before taking a leap into the air with outstretched claws. If she got two pieces of prey back to camp, maybe Sprucebark and herself could eat it. She smiled before landing by the river. The mouse noticed her and quickly escaped it was her fault for being so careless but she didn’t mind maybe she could catch other prey?

She continued padding by Sunningrocks, determined to catch another piece of prey. She felt like she had to, even if she didn’t have to. Aha! A toad came by her path. She hesitated. Should she go back to camp? No, she shouldn’t let a catch go to waste. It would be nightfall soon, so she had to make quick work of it. She pawed her way closer and closer until she jumped in the air, landing softly on the ground again. She’d have to catch it, right? There it was, dead right in front of her. She proudly picked it up and skipped over the river, dragging the pike along with her.
