Second Day!

"Heh... any decent cat would do the same. Want to try hunting again some other time? It just hasn't worked out for us recently." He joked weakly, then added, "Do you think the clan would be interested in eating a raccoon, or should I just bring it back for bragging rights?" He shifted his weight so he could properly support Heatherpetal, then set off for the camp, keeping a slow pace so as not to disturb her wound anymore than necessary.

Heatherpetal mustered a broken purr. "We'd better leave it here and let another patrol take care of it. A raccoon's scent already smells pretty foul, and its dung is even worse, so no one will want to eat it." She then huffed in amusement. "And the next time we go hunting we'll join a patrol. Speaking of, until I bring Dappledpaw up to speed with his training, I'm going to have you help the other warriors with any construction around camp. You never know what may happen, and we'll need to protect the nursery and elders' den at all costs."

While any other apprentice may have been upset at the aspect of staying in camp, Sunpaw brightened at the idea of being able to help his clan. "Okay! I'll do my best!" Sunpaw smiled fondly at his mentor. "And two apprentices, huh? That sounds like a challenge, but if there's any cat that can do it, it would be you!"

"Oh, StarClan has blessed ThunderClan with you," the young warrior sighed tiredly with a smile.

(OOC: Guess that's the end of this topic. Once I've finished with Dappledpaw's hunting and training practice I'll make a new topic to bring you two along on a hunting patrol. :3)
