"I guess not. If only my friend Fernfeather were a ThunderClan cat, then we'd have rabbits for days." Heatherpetal returned to the task at hand, locating a mouse several tail-lengths away. Sneaking up on it stealthily, she pounced.

Just before she landed on it, however, a raccoon leaped out from a rabbit-sized warren and hissed at her furiously, slashing its claws out at her face and scaring off the mouse.

Raccoon used Quick Swipe on Heatherpetal, dealing 20 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Heatherpetal yowled in surprise and agony, shaking her head to and fro and stuffing her face in the snow to try and quell the fiery pain. Growing fiercely, she dashed at it with incredible speed and force and slammed into its side, claws outstretched.

Heatherpetal readied herself to attack again, but the raccoon turned on her first and gnashed its sharp teeth hard into her hind leg, releasing blood and causing the young warrior to collapse to the ground. Her leg wasn't broken, but it still hurt too much to stand back up.

Raccoon used Iron Bite, dealing 25 damage and costing 20 stamina.

"Heatherpetal!" Sunpaw cried, watching his mentor sink to the ground after the powerful attack. He knew that he couldn't defeat it on his own- with only two attacks it had downed a full-grown warrior- but he wouldn't run away like he had last time. He would fight until his final breath! "Begone THOT!" "Get away from her!" He roared, lunging at the raccoon and latching onto its back.

The raccoon made a startled noise as it was pinned by a young cat about as big as itself. It struggled with an angry hiss, snapping its jaws at him.

Sunpaw leaned away from the dangerous maw of the raccoon, instead bringing his paw down hard, raking his claws across the raccoon's throat. Blood spurted out, and the predator laid limp beneath him.

Sunpaw huffed as he came down from his adrenaline high, before running to Heatherpetal's side. He skidded to a halt beside her and worriedly nosed her pale flank. "H-heatherpetal? Are you okay?" He tearfully asked.

Heatherpetal watched in complete awe as Sunpaw dealt the final blow on the massive predator, who was now feebly twitching as its life rapidly ebbed away from its body. She struggled to sit up, panting heavily. "W-Wow... Sunpaw, that was incredible!... Thank you, you saved my life."

"No, no, no, lay back down! You're still bleeding!" Sunpaw meowed, too concerned for his mentor to hear her compliments. "Y-you're losing a lot of blood..." he murmured. He raised a paw to put pressure on the wound, before looking up at Heatherpetal. "This is going to hurt a lot, but the bleeding needs to be stopped. I vaguely remember Honeyspark doing something like this, before she was..." he shook off the thought and looked up at her with worry. "A-are you ready?"

Heatherpetal drew in a hissy intake of breath, then gritted her teeth to try and bare through the pain, Her face also stung from where the vile creature slashed its sharp claws, but the blood there was already beginning to cake over. "I-I will be... G-Great StarClan, these predators nowad-days are ruthless!... Thank you, Sunp-paw."

"Alright, brace yourself..." He warned. "And... I'm sorry in advance." And with that, he raised himself onto his hind legs and pressed hard, grimacing because he couldn't imagine how much pain he was causing.

In a blind panic, Heatherpetal whipped her head around, desperate to find something to bite down on before Sunpaw applied even more pressure. Thankfully, she was able to grasp a stick between her teeth mere heartbeats before her apprentice pressed down, and she howled through gritted teeth and bore down, causing it to crack and splinter. She knew fully well that Sunpaw was only trying to help, but great StarClan did her irrational side want her to claw his fur out!

Sunpaw winced as he watched his mentor scramble for something to bite on. He had forgotten to get her something... well, that was why Honeyspark was a medicine cat and he wasn't. He smiled faintly before continuing to apply pressure. Slowly but surely, the bleeding slowed until Sunpaw deemed it safe enough for her to walk. "Okay... let's try to get you back to camp, now. Can you walk? You can lean on me if you need to." Sunpaw offered.

The stick snapped in half between her teeth and she let out a soft, trembly whimper when he finally stopped, her wound throbbing painfully. She struggled back up to her paws, but dull thumping pain shot up her leg when she tried to place it down on the ground. She awkwardly lifted it a few inches off the ground and leaned carefully against Sunpaw. "I'm so lucky to have you as my apprentice..." she rasped with a weak smile.
