A flicker in the heart{closed}

DaisyHeart woke with a yawn. Today she was going to show flickerpaw how to hunt and maybe if a predator comes how to fight. She got up and stretched then walked out of the warrior den. She padded to the apprentice den and looked inside. When she noticed the similar pelt she nudged her and spoke. "wake up it's time to go." she said and left the apprentice den. She waited by the entrance knowing waking up early for the first time being apprentice was hard.

Flickerpaw blinked awake blearily and flickered* her ears. She looked out at the sunlight and almost dragged herself out of the den before she stopped to lick her crazy fur. Once she was done smoothing her messy pelt, she felt much better. She got up and walked out, squinting in the bright morning sunlight. She surely would never get used to the new perspective of walking out of the den. She finally found Daisyheart's dark pelt by the camp entrance and padded towards her. "Are we taking anyone else?" She asked.

*That is a struck out pun, it's supposed to say flicked.

She smiled when she saw the young apprentice come near her and ask a question. "no today is just a mentor and apprentice day." she said smiling. "today we are going hunting." she looking at flickerpaw. "you can grab something to eat before we go." she said then started to groom her self from any dirt or dust.

Flickerpaw glanced at the low prey pile. "I think it's best we hunt first." She decided.

"ok lets go then." she said and started walking out of camp. She sniffed the air catching only the scent of snow and coldness. She kept walking until she caught the scent of rabbit. "ok we stop here what do you smell?" she asked flickerpaw.

Flickerpaw followed Daisyheart out of camp and tasted the air. "I don't know about you,
but I smell a sparrow."

She smelled the air and sure enough there was a faint smell of sparrow. "wow you smelled that before me I was talking bout the rabbit." she said smiling

Flickerpaw tasted the air. "I smell it too. Which should I try to catch first?"

She thought it over. "I say ra but since they are easier than a bird." she said smiling

Flickerpaw nodded and dropped into the hunting crouch the other apprentices had shown her when she was a kit, and she had perfected it, or so she thought. She stalked forward, swinging her tail back and forth, watching the rabbit with focused green eyes. She leaped and landed right behind the rabbit, who was darting away. She tried to run after it but it escaped into a burrow.

Daisyheart watched at she good into a almost perfect hunting crouch. She sighed when she noticed what was wrong and watched her see if the bad crouch could catch her anything.

"Mouse dung!" She hissed as the prey got away. "Now I've surely scared away that sparrow."

She smiled at flickerpaw. "dont worry it was just your crouch that messed it up. Your tail should never move and be straight and your feet need to never touch the air." she said smiling.

Flickerpaw tilted her head. "Never!? But, Daisyheart, what about when I walk?
If I drag my paws through the leaves, sticks, dirt, snow, and other stuff, the prey'll hear and see me before I even scent it!"
