Daffodils {finished!}

Sunpaw blinked in surprise, then took off after the kit, leaving disturbed snow in his wake. "Oh, you've done it now!" He crowed, running at a slower pace than normal. He didn't want to win too easily! But still, the kitten tore off ahead of him, and he found himself impressed by her speed. She would make a fine apprentice, whoever was chosen as her mentor would be lucky. And she would make an even finer warrior; he could tell.

Sunpaw grinned when he saw Daykit trip in the snow, and with a short hop he was upon her. But instead of pouncing, he began to dig, throwing snow on top of the struggling kitten with a purr. When all that was left of her was a heap of snow and giggling sounds from within, Sunpaw sat on his haunches and looked around with mock confusion. "Huh? I swear, I was just chasing a little brown kitten! Wherever did she go?" He leaned in close to the shifting pile of snow. "But gee, doesn't this pile of snow look soft! I think I just might take a seat on it!" He purred.

Sunpaw gasped in surprise and was bowled over by the sudden attack. Though Daykit was smaller than him, he was not expecting the lunge and found himself with a face full of snow. "You dare attack the great Sunpaw?!" he crowed, writhing beneath her. "I should kill you for disrespecting me! Or better yet, I'll eat you!" Sunpaw cackled, lightly snapping his teeth at the cat above him.

Daykit was thrilled to see her attack work, she watched eagerly as Sunpaw fell beneath her and ate snow. She laughed at him, piling more snow on him as he lay there. He spoke to her, even mentioning eating her. Suddenly a set of teeth snapped near the laughing kit’s face. She squealed in surprise, but instead of leaping away, the girl stood firm and swatted a white paw at his nose. ”Ha!” She said triumphantly, preparing for whatever move he made next.

Sunpaw's nose twitched at the sudden feeling of fur on his nose, and his eyes narrowed. "Now you're really pushing it!" He tackled the kitten to the ground, snow poofing up around them. Then, he sat on the kit with a soft "thwump". "Oh Starclan, I'm so tired from all this roughhousing! I think I need to take a breather." Sunpaw mewed sarcastically, squiming around on his new seat.

(Care to fade this topic out? Day is becoming an apprentice soon so I’m trying to close up old topics, but I’d love to have another one once she’s apprentice, these two seem like they could be good friends!)

It didn’t take long after Daykit’s “ha!” for Sunpaw to leap and tackle her to the ground. She let out a soft oof when she felt a weight upon her back. He’d really done it this time, he’d sat on her! She scoffed at his words, struggling to get back on her feet. She managed to displace his weight some, and wriggle her back half out from under him, soon the rest of her followed.

Her fur now totally sticking up in all directions, Daykit let out a loud huff. ”Fine you win. I’m tired.” She hated to admit defeat, but she too needed a breather. Perhaps even a nap. It was chilly out here, but with a friend by her side it probably wouldn’t be that bad. ”You want to take a nap?” She said, curling up into a tight wad then stretching out as far as possible.

OOC: Sure, and congrats on her apprenticeship! I can see them becoming great friends.

Sunpaw considered the idea, then swept snow away from the two with his bushy tail. He settled down on the cleared ground and beckoned her towards him with a tilt of his head. "Come on, I cleared room for the both of us." He purred. "Hopefully your mother won't be upset with me for keeping you out of the nursery for so long."

Daykit grinned as her new friend cleared out a spot, and she rose from her spot to crawl closer. Then she lay back down, facing Sunpaw as he spoke. ”My mom won’t mind, she’s too nice to get mad or anything.” She said, then closed her eyes.

It didn’t take long for the kit to fall asleep, and when she awoke, it was time for a snack.
