Viperpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their prey gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" Ivystar called out from her perch, green eyes glittering with pride and determination. Another warrior filled their ranks, and their clan grew in strength. But not only that, the apprentice that was to become a warrior meant much to her. It was her kin, her beloved daughter and son's kit, Viperpaw.

Viperpaw padded out of the apprentices' den. Her blue eyes shining as she joined the others at the gathering place. This would be her warrior ceremony, she knew it. She could feel it, and she was excited.

"Viperpaw, you've trained hard for many moons and proven yourself to be the right material for a warrior. Therefore I call upon you to step forward, if you believe yourself to ready." Ivystar had yet to see an apprentice run from their ceremony before, but the option was still there for Viperpaw if she felt uncertain or afraid. Though judging from her eagerness, and the shine in her eyes, it was highly unlikely.

Oh she was certainly ready. She was a bit conflicted from losing to Sharptooth, but by gaining her warrior name she would get revenge on the Thunderclan warrior. The gray blue apprentice stepped for her, her eyes looking up at her leader, and grandmother. She was so excited.

Looking up into the stars, Ivystar meowed the sacred words that had been spoken at Thistleblaze's ceremony. It was heart-breaking that her daughter could not be here to witness this herself, she would have been cheering the loudest for her daughter. But others were here, and Ivystar mentally jotted down that she should celebrate the apprentice's promotion tonight, rather than retreat to let her clan enjoy the night without the pressure of her presence. "I, Ivystar, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Viperpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

She did. She would. She made this promise to herself many times before, even before being asked this by Ivystar. She would always uphold this no matter the choice, no matter the influence. She would always be loyal to her clan in the end. "I do." Forever. She silently added.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forth, you shall be known as Viperstorm. RiverClan honours your determination and unflinching loyalty to our clan. Your mother would be so proud, Viperstorm. I know that she watches us from the stars with pride." The leader meowed softly towards the end, hopping down from her perch to press pelts with the newly named warrior affectionately. She hoped that Viperstorm felt loved and celebrated in this moment, and that death would not come for Viperstorm as swiftly as it had come for her siblings before. "Find strength in family, and know you are loved. Now, we must discuss your vigil. Like Duckpuddle's it cannot be one done alone due to the dangers, but you will be tasked with protecting our camp in silence tonight. I trust you can do that?"

Viperstorm nodded. "I will do whatever it takes to protect my clan." She said to her leader. Viperstorm.. What a fitting name. She will be the storm that would protect her clan. Even if it killed her or broke her. She appreciated Ivystar's affection, and the knowledge that Thistleblaze was watching from above. Hopefully this made Sootwhisper, and Silverfang proud in the end. She would succeed her mother. First came the fire now comes the storm. The clans better be prepared.
