snowy fishing [closed]

The cold make Splashwillow's slowly-healing wounds ache profusely, as well as her joints, but she found that scooping up small pawfuls of the snow often helped numb her aches and pains. Shaking of the snow that she had smothered herself in a few heartbeats prior, the calico let out a sneeze as she settled herself next to the Leafbare-brittle reeds of the camp's entrance. Despite Cloudstone's advice for her to take it easy, the Warrior found herself going stir-crazy just sitting around camp all day with nothing to do- so she decided on a bit of nice and slow-going hunting to preoccupy herself.

Wrapping her tail around her paws, Splashwillow patiently settled herself down for a wait, hoping that one of her Clanmates would join her soon.

Snailbelly was aching as well, but his wounds were rather minor. Still, he was not enjoying his first taste of true battle. It hurt quite a bit, and pain was not something that the lazy Snailbelly was used to. He grumbled as he stood up and stretched, his scratches screaming all over his body. That ThunderClan cat, Sweetheart, had really shown him what-for. Hopefully, there wouldn't be another battle for Sunningrocks. He wasn't quite sure if he was ready for that. In an attempt to get that off of his mind, he went out the camp entrance through the reeds and went to the water. A nice fish would do him some good.

Then he saw Splashwillow. Quietly, he said, "Hey. How's fishing?"

At the sound of a voice, Splashwillow's  head perked up slightly and she turned to greet whoever approached with a soft trill of welcome. Shuffling slightly to make room for Snailbelly, the calico exhaled a soft and steamy breath that lingered for several heartbeats. "Cold," She quietly admitted, "But nothing seems to be slowing the fish down yet." Redirecting her attention to the swiftly moving water ahead of her, the Warrior attempted to work the stiffness from her body as she waited for the perfect moment to strike. Seeing a ripple of silver in the water just before her, Splashwillow's small paw flashed out with a surprising amount of speed as she lunged for the unfortunate fish. Scooping out the wriggling body of the fish, the calico Warrior finished it off with a swift flash of her teeth.

Snailbelly smiled and nodded at her gesture, settling down beside her. "That's good. I'm hungry," he joked. His eyes followed where Splashwillow's led, scanning the water for fish. They waited together until she managed to make herself a nice catch. Wow! She was fast! The fish barely had time to flop before she finished it off. He settled his haunches and made to nab one for himself, and to show off a little too. Fishing was his favorite thing to do. With a surprisingly swift motion for Snailbelly, he darted his paw into the water after a streak and brought it onto the rocks. It took only a bite to its spine to make it stop wriggling.

Splashwillow nodded in agreement to Snailbelly's statement, a visible breath being exhaled alongside a friendly chuckle. They were all hungry at this point. Watching with curious amber eyes, the calico continued to watch the tom bring up a fish of his own, a relieved gleam practically tangible within her molten eyes- at least they had managed to catch something. That was more than some patrols were able to do. Returning her gaze back towards the swiftly flowing waters, Splashwillow struck out once more at the sight of a small fish below the waters. With a soft hiss, she quickly flicked the scaled creature up from the safety of the water and onto the ground beside the two Warriors.
