Hunting in Leafbare (Closed)

Tinytip led the little patrol with the young apprentice called Ravenpaw. After the fight between Thunderclan and Riverclan, their clan needed more prey than ever and since she was in perfect conditions, she had to do her duty for the clan.

The warrior stopped on the shore of the river in a place where she could find a spot free of ice perfect for fishing. "Let's hunt here. I'll go with fishing but you can hunt whatever you want as long as we bring at least two pieces of prey per cat. Come on...Riverclan needs this food soon." With the instructions given, the she-cat approached the water and crouched down, focused on any silver flash that could appear.

I might as well start with fish, she thought. Ravenpaw crouched by the river, making sure her shadow was behind her before beginning to fish. Soon, she spotted the shimmering flash of scales and swiped neatly into the water with her paw, scooping it out of the water and killing it with a quick blow from her paw. I guess I'll go for a bird next, she thought, putting her prey underneath a bush and hurrying off to find her next piece of prey.

Tinytip barely flicked her tail when the young cat caught her piece of prey. Her eyes watched the water until she finally caught the silver flash. Dipping her head into the water, her jaws caught the fish swiftly and she killed it after some seconds of struggling. The she-cat tossed it to the shore and returned her eyes to the river, ready to catch the next one.

Ravenpaw spotted a bird at the base of a tree, pecking in the snow. She stalked it carefully, paws crunching softly in the snow, keeping her tail and shoulders down. When she was close enough, she leaped forwards. The bird took off in a flurry of feathers, leaving Ravenpaw sprawled in the snow. "Fox-dung!" she cursed under her breath, hoping that Tinytip hadn't seen her blunder. She shook snow from her dark pelt and hurried back to the river. "I'm more likely to catch fish anyway, even if they are smaller," she told herself.

The Riverclan she-cat turned her head to the apprentice and smiled. "Don't worry. Sometimes you can be lucky and hunt a big fish too. For now, Riverclan only needs food, no matter the size."

Her amber eyes went back to the river and soon another fish appeared. With one swift paw, she threw the prey out of the water and Tinytip didn't lose any second to run and kill it with one strong bite. The warrior returned to the shore where her other fish was waiting and then glanced at her clanmate. "Go and hunt another one. Then we can come back to the camp."

"Okay." Ravenpaw sat at the edge of the river again. After several minutes of waiting, something silver flashed in the water and Ravenpaw tried to scoop it out with her paw. As her paw met the water, a strange sound behind her caught her attention. She stopped, distracted, and the fish disappeared. "What's that-" Ravenpaw started to say, but her words died in her throat at the sight of a raccoon lumbering up behind them. Instinctively, she dashed up beside it, rolling quickly so she could rake her claws across its belly before streaking back again.

OOC: It count as a hunting patrol because you used the hunting system ;) You don't have to worry about the raccoon. Usually, when you roleplay a predator is the same as roleplaying another cat but with different moves and stats. We will bring this as prey since is actually an easy predator. Be ready, I'll stun it with Tiny and you hit it. Then my cat will end it.

The little she-cat was watching at the apprentice when she suddenly smelled a strange scent. Quickly, she turned her sigh back just to see a raccoon approaching them with eyes that showed its intentions to kill. Ravenpaw acted fast and soon the blood of the predator started painting the snow with red. Tinytip hissed and stood up between the young cat and the huge animal. "Stay away from its jaws, Ravenpaw!" She yowled before leaping forward to its scruff. She grabbed it with her jaws, leaving the predator without any chance to attack.

Tinytip used Teeth Grip on Raccoon, dealing 10 damage and costing 20 stamina. Raccoon is stunned for 2 turns.

Following Tinytip's instructions, Ravenpaw twisted away from the raccoon's snapping, yellow teeth and slashed her claws down its side.

The small warrior bit harder the neck of the predator until its legs stopped working. She stepped back with her jaws filled with blood and breathing fastly by the emotion of the fight. She cleaned up her muzzle with one paw and then fixed her eyes on Ravenpaw. "That was... unexpected. But, now that it's done... thanks to Starclan for this source of food! This will feed up Riverclan for a few days. You're bigger than me so maybe it's better than you carry the corpse back to the camp and I will bring our fishes." Tinytip grabbed the three small fishes on her mouth and then waited for Ravenpaw to finish up picking the dead raccoon. After what happened today, the warrior now was sure about one thing: Ravenpaw was a good patrol partner, well-skilled in fighting and hunting.

Tinytip keeps using Teeth Grip, dealing 10 damage. Raccoon is stunned for one turn. Raccoon is KO.
