Subject: Until Our Last Breath [Sunningrocks War] Wed 20 Dec 2017 - 19:21
Blizzardstar took a deep breath as Sunningrocks came into view. She still hoped that Ivystar would’ve thought this over, that she would be willing to negotiate at the last second. She didn’t want a war, she didn’t want to lose her clanmates nor watch them in pain as the Medicine cats did their best to heal them with whatever herbs they could find. She looked behind her as she walked through the snow, warriors and apprentices alike following her with claws unsheathed, ready to fight over these rocks that could be the deciding point between starving and surviving this Leafbare.
Lowering her ears, she was the first one to step over the border marking and set a paw on the stony terrain of Sunningrocks. Ivystar’s warning was still fresh on her mind, and if she complied with it in the end she wanted to be the one that fought with her and, if she couldn’t win, received her lethal blow. Even if she didn’t have another eight lives to spare, she would’ve still done the same, as she would rather die than have any of her clanmates die instead. She stopped walking only once she was in the open ad looked around. RiverClan couldn’t be far…

Dustcloud walked slowly over the border after Blizzardstar and Leopardclaw, unsure of what was in store for ThunderClan. She knew for a fact that she would fight for her Clan to win, even if it meant death. But that didn't stop the nervous jitters running all throughout her body. As she stepped onto the Sunningrocks, she suddenly felt very calm and collected, as if she had just forgotten they were about to fight a war. She stopped just behind Blizzardstar and to the right, ready to be at her side if need be. She took a deep breath, slowly breathing out. We've got this.

Honeyspark had followed her clanmates but stayed to the trees just outside the border of riverclan and Thunderclan. Her moss green eyes held worry and she knew many would be hurt and she had to hoped she had enough herbs to do so.
Owlpaw stayed silent as the warrior aged apprentice unsheathed her claws ready for a fight wanting to defend her clan and get the territory they needed to survive.

Specklefang stood close to the front, the massive warrior rolling her shoulders as she scanned for the Riverclan cats across the river. Every part of the large she-cat screamed anger, her mind shouting at her to retreat, to convince Blizzardstar that this war was not worth fighting. Her kits would die on this battlefield and that was that. But no, she had to uphold her duty as a warrior, score her claws across another cat and do her very best to win this battle before any cat could be lost.
She'd teach those Riverclan cats a lesson or two on messing with Thunderclan, fur bristling the warrior stuck her claws into the frozen stone, scraping against it in her agitation. She was ready, and she was going to fight like all of Lionclan.

Heatherpetal padded along beside Emberpaw, fear churning in her stomach. As much as she wanted to serve and provide for the Clan who had taken her in, she was absolutely terrified. She didn't want to die. She didn't want her Clanmates to die. She didn't want Emberpaw to die. If she was slain on the battlefield...
The young warrior shook her head viciously, as if to shake off a tick behind her ear. She couldn't think like that. Everything would be fine. Everything had to be fine. ThunderClan would win back Sunningrocks from RiverClan and show those fish-faces who truly deserved the hunting grounds. And after this all was over, she and Emberpaw would leave this battle behind them and settle down to become mates.
...That is, if they both survived.
She turned to the apprentice beside her, who was nearly ready to become a warrior. If Blizzardstar could make her a warrior after this battle, it would surely be a rainbow after a disastrous hurricane. She nuzzled her muzzle into the back of her ear, breathing in her sweet scent for what she hoped and prayed to StarClan wouldn't be the last time. "Good luck, Emberpaw. Remember, I will always be there for you when you need my help, just as I know you'll be there for me."

"Have you come to join your foolish ancestors in StarClan today, Blizzardstar?" A voice rang out through the clearing, as a silver tabby parted the reeds to step out onto the sandy banks of the River. Ivystar looked rather intimidating, her fur glossy with oils and her white paws shifting sands with each of her forceful steps. She's been waiting for this moment, having had patrols keep an extra close eye on the edges of the forest leading up to this day.
As she crossed the ice that made up the river, she carefully noted mentally the places where the ices was thinnest. ThunderClanners could most likely drown pathetically if they managed to shove them under with an expert blow. Behind her, trailed the rest of the clan. Otterleap stood by his daugher's side, and Minnowpaw hung behind her grandfather. They drew strength from each other, and from their unflinching leader. "I am a cat of my word. And I believe I owe it to you to end the life of the first cat that walked onto our lands."
ooc: rc hoes, don't forget we can use our clan moves here. this is our territory still ;) drown them in the river, and show tc who's boss

Emberpaw was scared. There was no skirting around that simple fact. Still, the events of her moonstone journey not long prior ran through her mind as she tried to gather courage while she followed her Clanmates to take the Sunningrocks back from RiverClan.
"Good luck to you, too, Heatherpetal. The same goes for you, always," she said quietly. It was the first thing she had said since leaving the camp, lost in thought.
She belonged in ThunderClan, because she chose to belong in ThunderClan. It was her home. And now she had to fight to protect it. A long time ago, the kittypet she once was would have dreamed of this war, of a chance for glory. ...She couldn't help feeling disgusted at herself for that. She was young, and hadn't known any better, but... She knew so many more things now than she did then. She knew Heatherpetal, who was walking so close to her, and she knew that she loved her. She knew she could lose her. She knew that she cared about her Clanmates, even the ones she rarely spoke to and the ones that openly disdained her. She knew that she could lose some of them today, too. There was danger here, it wasn't a grand fight between good and evil where one side was destined to end victorious.
No, she supposed Gingerheart had been right about that. Destiny. It was something you decided for yourself, not something laid out for you. There was nothing destined about this battle. Just living, breathing cats choosing their own paths. And in that moment, with that realization, she was ready to choose hers.

The lean grey tabby cat followed her mother and leader close, trying to organize the cats that were walking behind them. His green eyes looked at the other side of the river, seriously. So Blizzardstar truly made it... she was going to war against them for the Sunningrocks and that meant that she was willing to hurt his clanmates. Jaystream couldn't stand that idea. Riverclan was his home and family, something he must protect at the cost of his life.
He narrowed his eyes and stood up straighter, so he would look more confident and powerful. This was no longer a negotiation and he knew what Thunderclan could do after they put Cinderpaw into a coma when he was an apprentice. With that remember in his mind, he glanced at the Thunderclan cats with angered eyes but keeping his mouth closed.
---------------
Silverfang walked with the rest of the warrior and she looked at Thunderclan with hate. Those fox-hearted cats would pay for even try to take away what it was rightfully theirs. She unsheathed her claws, preparing for the battle as she waited for the first thunderclanner to come and fight. She would show no mercy.
--------------
The short she-cat almost run behind the rest of her clan and stopped by the side of his mate, her paws trembling slightly. Finally, the moment came. The fight was inevitable and she had to do what she must to protect the life of her clan. For Batfang and her sons... she would what it was on her paws to prevent the starvation.

Sweetheart padded behind Ivystar and glared out at the ThunderClan warriors on the other side of the frozen river. Her tail lashed to and fro as she directed her fear into anger towards the opposing Clan. It was their faults for causing a war in the first place. If it weren't for them, no cat would be at risk of death or serious injury. It was all their fault for injuring her Clanmates in advance, and she would make them pay.
Her gaze rested on the blue eyes of a gray tabby she-cat. She would make the perfect first opponent. She bared her teeth at the warrior, a deep growl rumbling in her throat.
(OOC: Ugh, my boss called me in to work tomorrow even though I was supposed to have the day off... Hopefully neither Sweetheart nor Heatherpetal will be auto-KO'd while I'm at work. For that reason only, I'm gonna have the two of them fight each other so I'm not holding anybody up. ...I hope that's acceptable.)

Duckpaw padded in behind Ivystar and alongside the other warriors and apprentices that would be fighting for RiverClan in the battle. The apprentice had fought predators before, but she had never once fought in a battle against other cats. Perhaps this was something that most Clan cats wouldn't see in a lifetime; a large Clan versus Clan territory battle. While bloodshed was nothing that any cat truly wanted to see, Duckpaw knew that it was necessary sometimes. Back at the meeting in the RiverClan camp, Duckpaw had tried to side with peace. That didn't make her unloyal, though. It was crunch time now, and if that meant she had to fight for her Clan, then she would do it to the best of her ability, and she'd continue to fight until she couldn't fight anymore. The she-cat's claws slipped out of their sheaths as she felt a growl rise in her throat. Strategies began to run through her mind. It wouldn't be wise to fight against a warrior, they were a lot bigger and more experience that she was. So, she figured that she'd go against a cat who seemed to be her age once the battle began to rage. The brown she-cat fluffed out her fur instinctively. It wasn't an attempt to make herself bigger, it was just an attempt to warm herself. It was still cold and snowy, after all. She wouldn't let that stop her, though.

Don't fight yourself. You have a 24 hour leeway between posts. If you post within 24 hours, you don't get auto-KO

Batfang walked slower for Tinytip as he approached the Sunningrocks with his fellow clanmates by his side. He looked at the other shore, treacherously and then turned his sight to the little she-cat, wrapping his tail around hers. ”I love you, Tinytip, so please be careful. I can’t lose you... so I’ll close to protect you no matter what.” He purred licking her head before focusing again in the conflict.
On the other side. Reedheart walked in next to his twin sister, Honeyspark. He feared the death of anyone of his friends but just Like Blizzardstar said: this war was necessary for the clan’s survival and the leader’s orders were the Warrior Code. He couldn’t disobey her.

Blizzardstar couldn’t help but lower her ears when Ivystar crossed the river and reminded her of the warning she had given to her the previous day. She hoped that the truth would sink in Ivystar during the time they spent preparing for war and made her at least a bit more hesitant, realize that this war was only going to bring pain to both sides. There was no glory to be earned through such unnecessary bloodshed, especially in this specific season “Ivystar, stop this madness already. This war is NOT necessary, no blood has to be spilled today. Its Leafbare, we all need this prey and herbs are low! This battle will only bring pain to both our clans. You rejected my approaches to negotiate a peaceful solution for this that could benefit the two of us once, don’t do it twice!” She looked at the cats that started to approach and take their positions at Ivystar’s side, all of them looking at her and her clanmates like if they were some kind of Dark Forest dwellers.
“Ivystar, please! I’m sure you care for your clanmates as much as I do, that you don’t want to lose any of them nor have to carry an injured friend back to camp today. Let’s talk this out!” Blizzardstar was silently praying to StarClan that the silver tabby leader would listen to her this time, even if something inside her was telling her that her words were falling on deaf ears.

Dewpaw followed behind them with some of the other riverclan apprentices quietly. The idea of so much violence made her uneasy, but she had to fight. She had to defend her clan no matter what the cost was. She eyed the frozen river cautiously as they crossed it, the reason why they needed that land for prey. She fluffed up her light grey pelt and waited with tensed claws. The sound of the ice shifting was an uncomfortable sound. Her blue eyes scanned the Thunderclan cats and she noticed that there seemed to be more and more of them.
She looked for Ivystar and saw her at the front. Heard her bold declaration and swallowed back her fear. Dewpaw couldn't let that hold her back or be her weakness. Thunderclan had to lose.

Leafstorm pushed his way through the growing crowd, flexing his claws anxiously. The large warrior finally found who he was looking for and let out a sigh of relief and pushing his way in earnest. He said nothing when he reached Specklefang. He just sat there, his eyes narrowed as he sized up the Riverclanners. He seemed crumpled, almost, like a leaf that had found its way through the gorge. A pained look found it's way onto his face as he saw how many young faces he could see on Riverclan's side. Was Ivystar really willing to risk the lives of their young simply because she didn't want Thunderclan to own a small strip of land? Not to mention that the land in question was the deciding factor for Thunderclan's prosperity during Leafbare. Could an ages-long, silly argument over a bunch of rocks actually be worth the lives of innocent warriors and apprentices? He set his jaw and glanced up at Specklefang, opening his mouth to say something. But what could he possibly say? A fierce determination washed over him, and he lifted one lip menacingly. Ivystar would pay for her lack of empathy, for both Thunderclan and her own clan. He just had to protect his family.
Sharptooth hissed loudly from the front line, rolling her shoulders and looming over the heads of the crowd. Although she wasn't as tall as her mother, she was frighteningly intimating, with her sides and face marked with countless scars. Her eyes had a steely glint in them, and her claws made furrows in the ground. If there was one thing Sharptooth was born for, it was war. Her heartbeat sped up and her blood pounded in her ears as Ivystar stepped forward. "Save it for the battlefield, you ugly, worm-hearted, foxdung-smelling, useless excuse for a Riverclan cat!" She screeched.
Natural Instinct +1 to all Hunting rolls regardless of location, clan and prey.
Feral Ferocity (Passive) Negates all other clans’ passives. Having true wild cat blood makes your character hardier, with better survivability and highly adaptable to changes in the environment, as well as confrontations with rivals. With this passive, no cat regardless of clan or training will have a passive advantage over yours. Star Striker is the exception and is still active.
