Newtkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, ready for another ceremony “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Newtkit shot one of the queens and questioning look as she pushed him out tell nursery. His fur was messy from another scheme. Gravel and twig bits had tangled in it. He trotted into the clearing and sat down, using his claws to tug a few of the twigs out while giving some attention to the leader on the Highrock.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Newtkit, please, step forward”.

Newtkit stopped fiddling with his pelt and looked up at her with surprise, standing up and trotting closer to Highrock.

Blizzardstar smiled at the kit before talking again “Newtkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Newtpaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Reedheart. I hope he passes down all he knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Heatherpetal purred her approval when Blizzardstar chose Reedheart to mentor Newtpaw. Even though she secretly hoped she would be able to mentor him herself, she knew he would be in much better paws with her adopted older brother. He had done well in training her during her apprenticeship, so she had full confidence that Newtpaw would become a grand warrior.
