Just Being Kits(Open)

Doekit sat in the center of camp, her tail curled neatly around her paws. Her green eyes scanned the cats that were in sight. No one. She sighed and laid down. She wanted at least SOMEONE to play with her. Even if it was an apprentice.

Sweetpaw padded up to the kit with a warm, friendly glow in her dull amber eyes. "Hello there, little one. What's your name?"

Doekit looked up at the apprentice. "My name's Doekit," she squeaked. "What's yours?"

Ic: Vixenstep made her way to the nursery. She had heard that there were new kits, and StarClan knew how much she loved kits. Her name was Doekit, apparently. She looked very bored, so Vixenstep decided that she would give her a little fun. "Hey there, Doekit!" she said kindly, walking with light steps towards Sweetpaw and Doekit. "Want to play a game?"

Doekit looked up at Vixenstep's voice. "Wow," she said. "You're really tall!" At least, the warrior was to her. Being as small as she was, she technically thought that about everyone. "And yeah, I'd love to play!"

Ooc: No problem!

Ic: Vixenstep smiled. She was actually the shortest of the warriors as far as she knew, but she supposed that, to Doekit, she must appear huge. "What do you want to play? When I was your age, we played tag. Wanna play tag? Or maybe we could play Clans? Any ideas, either of you?" she asked both Sweetpaw and Doekit.

"Um." The kit thought for a moment. She had heard of "tag" but had never played it before. BUt of course she had played Clans! Every kit had, as far as she knew. Well, I'm not sure about the other Clans, she realized. But their kits must be the same. Right?

"Let's play tag," the she-kit decided. "I've never played it before."

"Oh, tag is such a fun game!" Sweetpaw purred, more than happy to let the kit decide which game to play. "But we must be careful of all the snow and ice. We wouldn't want to slip and fall. Especially Vixenstep; with her being so tall, she'll be looking forward to a pretty big fall." Her whiskers twitched in playful amusement as she teased the warrior.

Vixenstep was taken aback. Tag? Doekit had never played tag? It was a classic when Vixenstep was a kit. Her tail flicked in amusement at Sweetpaw's taunt. "Yeah, well, we will have to be careful. Ice is dangerous, as Sweetpaw so kindly mentioned." She glared at Sweetpaw, but the expression in her eyes was joking and amused. "Do you know how to play?" she asked Doekit. Vixenstep didn't want any confusion on Doekit's part.

Doekit laughed at Sweetpaw's teasing remark. "No," she answered the warrior. "Never have. I play Clans all the time, but..." A puzzled expression overcame her features. "I don't know how to play."

Vixenstep smiled. "Alright. So, to play tag, you have to chase another cat and 'tag' them. To tag the other cat, you tap them with your paw. Then the cat who got tagged has to tag another cat. Get it?" she asked, hoping her explanation made at least some sense.

She thought for a moment. "I guess so," she said finally. "So... yeah. Yeah, it makes sense."

Dewkit woke up from her nap and slipped quietly to the entrance of the nursery. She tilted her head curiously at the sight of Doekit and the larger cats. She glanced around the camp and stepped into the snow with a shiver and a slight jump to her step as she ran over to the middle where the trio was gathered, overhearing something about a game.
"Can I play too?" She asked quietly, looking at Doekit, then at Vixenstep and Sweetpaw.

Sweetpaw purred at Dewkit as she scampered over. "Of course you can, little one. We're all about to play tag."

"You can," Doekit said, turning to Dewkit. "I haven't ever played tag before, though, do I might need some help if you have."
