A Day by the River (Closed Hunting Patrol)

Sweetpaw nodded and padded up to Smokepaw's other side, gently nudging her flank. "Please wake up, Smokepaw."

Smokepaw could hear cats...but, where was she? Everything around her was black, it was so dark. She could hear Vixenstep and Sweetpaw in the back of her head, so...she must be alive, right? But right now, she wasn't sure of anything. Smokepaw tried to move, to wake up. It was hard..so hard... And she was warm here, and it was comfortable. Wait, that can't be right... Smokepaw twitched, moving slightly, yet she did not wake, and in the end she stopped trying. She tried to remember what happened, but it was impossible. Each time she tried to wake up, she could only move her body slightly. Smokepaw silently begged for help, she couldn't physically do anything. The other cat's gentle touches felt distant, as though it was another cat feeling them entirely.

Vixenstep watched as Smokepaw twitched feebly and looked at Sweetpaw. "Get some water, poor thing could use some." she proceeded to clean Smokepaw's more minor injuries, murmuring comforting things as she did so.

Sweetpaw nodded and raced off to the river she and Smokepaw were fishing at just moments ago, which now felt like an eternity ago, but not before making a detour to a nearby tree and slicing off some moss. She soaked the moss in the water and brought it back to Smokepaw, placing the wet bundle carefully in front of her muzzle.

"Come on, Smokepaw, wake up," she softly begged, nuzzling behind her denmate's ear. "Please wake up..."

Smokepaw finally managed to drag herself back from the unconscious state she was in. Smokepaw half opened her eyes, looking around her at the blurry figures that were her Clanmates. "I...w-what did I d-do?" she asked, her voice faint and weak as she looked up at the other cats, whose figures were slowly coming into focus. Smokepaw had no memory of what happened, no matter how hard she tried to remember. She moved her head slightly, but immediately stopped. Her neck was painful when she moved it, and her scruff felt sore... But why? She recognised the figures of Vixenstep and Sweetpaw, but they were so blurry she could only just make them out. Questions raced each other around her head, she wanted to ask so much, but she couldn't put her feelings into words.

"Shhh," Vixenstep whispered. "Don't push yourself. Come on, Sweetpaw, let's get back to camp to visit Cloudstone. And Smokepaw, I'll carry you back. Any questions you may have will be answered in camp, alright?" She picked Smokepaw up gingerly by the scruff, extremely gently due to her injury.

Smokepaw frowned slightly when she saw the blood on Vixenstep. She didn't push it any further, but winced slightly when she was picked up. Smokepaw knew she was trying to be gentle, and she was thankful for it. Smokepaw remained quiet, her head still spinning with unanswered questions.

Sweetpaw nodded and began following, but she stopped in realization. "Oh, I almost forgot!" She rushed back to the riverbank and grabbed one of the caught fish in her jaws, but she realized she wouldn't be able to grab both by the sides. Placing the fish back down, she lined them both up and gripped their tails. She raced back to Vixenstep and Smokepaw, the two fish dragging along behind her. She would make sure poor Smokepaw got one of them.

OOC: Is this the end of topic? Do we make a new one in he camp or not?

(OOC: I guess we could try making a follow-up in the medicine den. Hopefully Cloudstone would be there to help heal Smokepaw.)

OOC: I guess we could start a new topic in the medicine cat's den, unless there's something in the new rules against that or something. I'll check tomorrow, cause here its 20 past twelve.

(OOC: The new rules just say it's no longer mandatory to heal yourself after a battle. Titanium, you can go ahead and make the topic if you'd like. :3)

OOC: We must be in the same timezone then. Yeah, I'll leave making the new topic up to you two then XD
