November Medicine Cat Meeting 2017

As the half moon rose high in the sky, Rabbitfoot sat down just outside of Mothermouth, patiently awaiting the other medicine cats. It was always a fun time trying to make her way over here, but just as always, she was excited to see her friends. Hopefully everyone made it another moon so she could see them again.

Roaringblaze followed his mentor to where Rabbitfoot was waiting for them, the medicine cat sitting by Mothermouth. The inventive tom had been looking forward to the next medicine cat meeting- he really wanted to share the new herbal mixture he created. Plus, he was anxious to hear what Starclan would tell them today. Any message from Starclan would be important to hear and relay back to their clans. Padding up to Rabbitfoot, he nodded politely in greeting. "Hi Rabbitfoot," he greeted. "How are you this half-moon?"

Cloudstone approached Mothermouth from his home territory, alone again. His dark paws barely lifted off the rocky path as he came closer. He could feel the grief pulling him backwards. At this point the tom could only believe he was cursed when it came to his apprentices. Icepaw had been lost. She had been so close to receiving her full name, too. His eyes were clouded as he finally came upon Rabbitfoot and Roaringblaze, and he remained somber as he greeted them. "Evening."

Featherpaw made her way to her first ever medicine cat meeting, her paws tingling with excitement as she edged closer and closer to the meeting place. She nodded politely to the other medicine cats when she arrived, though she remained silent.

As the other cats began to gather, Rabbitfoot's heart began to race with excitement again-- at least, until she saw the long face of Cloudstone who was walking alone. Very quickly the clues began to fall into place and the she-cat dipped her head respectfully to the tom before acknowledging the others. "Greetings!" she purred, trying to lift the spirits of the few in the area. Quickly turning her head to Roaringblaze, she was curious to where Honeydrop was. "It's been... hard. With the weather getting cold, it's getting difficult to find herbs. I hope that this leafbare will be easy on us," she mewed, her gaze finally turning to the Windclan medicine cat apprentice. Tilting her head curiously, she spoke, "Where is Sageleaf?"

"I don't know," Featherpaw admitted quietly. "She just... Left." She didn't know what else to say - that was all she knew.

When Cloudstone joined them, Roaringblaze's eagerness dimmed at the sight of the Riverclan medicine cat's somber expression. It was clear that something awful must have recently happened in Cloudstone's life. He didn't know exactly what it was, but Roaringblaze did not feel the need to ask. He had faced this expression many times from his own mentor Honeydrop. Whenever she had a particularly bad flashback of her traumatic past, he had found that she appreciated it the most when he didn't say anything at all. Instead, he would hang around, letting his unassuming, supportive presence keep her steady. For Cloudstone, he would do the same- not saying a word about the sadness that lingered around the tom like a thick fog, but keeping a close eye to see if there was anything he could do without pressing Cloudstone at the slightest.

Roaringblaze shifted his attention to the cat who showed up next, a small she-cat he had never seen before. His heart warmed at the excitement in her expression, her energy reminding him of his own first time meeting his fellow medicine cats. When she gave a polite nod to everyone, Roaringblaze smiled encouragingly and nodded in return, hoping she would feel welcome among them and find this first experience as enlightening as he had.

Then Rabbitfoot asked Featherpaw about Sageleaf. Roaringblaze quickly became worried about Sageleaf, hoping that there was a harmless reason to why the Windclan medicine cat couldn't make it tonight. "I hope Sageleaf is alright," Roaringblaze meowed. "I pray to Starclan that nothing bad has happened to her."

Honeyspark had picked her way from her den a little later then She liked. The Thunderclan Medicine cat flicked a dark ear as she was one of the last to arrive. She smiled a bit as she spotted the others glad that she finally was joining them as a fully named medicine cat. Quietly she dipped her head in greeting to the others"greetings Rabbitfoot,Roaringblaze,and Cloudstone"She mewed. She nodded a bellow to featherpaw not sure if she remembered the apprentice but wanted to be friendly regardless.

After offering the other medicine cats a polite nod, as well as a smile for Rabbitfoot, Honeydrop listened with interest to the other Clans' news. Sageleaf, missing? How odd... that wasn't like the WindClan she-cat. Perhaps StarClan would inform them tonight of what had happened. "W-Well, as n-nce as it is to s-s-see all of you, I-I suggest that we g-give StarClan a ch-chance to speak. No d-doubt they have m-m-messages they are eager t-to share." The golden dappled she-cat gestured towards Mothermouth, ready for the most senior medicine cats to go in first.

Oceanlight spotted the Mothermouth. She had told Rabbitfoot that she'd come and meet her there. The blue-grey medicine cat walked up the path she had walked many times. She saw the medicine cats and nodded to them. "Sorry if I'm late." she said, dipping her head.

Featherpaw nodded a greeting to each of the medicine cats that arrived after her, curious and attentive, paying close attention to everything they said. After all, without her mentor she was left to learn by observation.

IC: Now that everyone had arrived, it was time to start the meeting before the half-moon sank back down over the horizon. Honeydrop flicked her tail, beckoning for Roaringblaze and the others to follow, and walked into the mouth of the dark cavern. The absence of light in Highstone's twisting tunnels had long since lost its novelty to the experienced medicine cat, and she navigated the fastest way to the Moonstone with ease, making sure not to lose the other cats behind her. When she reached the tall crystal, the golden dappled she-cat waited for her companions before lying down by the towering stone, pressing her nose to it, and falling into a deep sleep. Hopefully, StarClan would shine some light on their problems...

Once he had rushed under the fangs of Mothermouth, Cloudstone traveled in step with the ginger-furred she-cat, through the darkness that surely made his almost entirely invisible. Except for his tail, of course. Once they had entered the main cavern he stepped aside for a moment. He was apprehensive of StarClan even still, despite his moons of being a medicine cat. Afterwards, he approached the Moonstone and placed his black nose on its cold surface, where he then fell asleep. What would StarClan have in store for him, if they decided to appear at all?

Oceanlight followed the medicine cats down into Mothermouth. She looked at the giant crystal as it gleamed. She walked over and touched her nose to it, and felt sleepiness as well as coldness pulse through her body as she fell asleep like the others, to speak with StarClan.

Featherpaw followed the other medicine cats into the tunnels, following the scent of the others as the light faded completely. As she reached the stone and her eyes readjusted to the light emanating from it, she paused to take it in with an appreciation she hadn't had during her apprentice ceremony. However, the moment lasted only that - a moment - and she made her way to the moonstone, touching her nose to it and drifting into the land of dreams, home of her ancestors.
