Shrewpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Shrewpaw padded over to beneath the Highrock, not paying the utmost interest to Blizzardstar. He assumed this was an apprentice ceremony, not even considering the fact that this was his own warrior ceremony.

Birdflight got up and soon sat down closer to where Blizzardstar held the ceremonies. She took a look at Shrewpaw and gave him a warm smile. Even though she wasn't the best of friends with the tom, she wanted to be. They had been around each other at least once or twice but it was for "serious" reasons. She knew in her heart that it was his big day. He was a bit older than her but she became a warrior before him. She turned her attention back to the leader.

Sharptooth trotted towards her friend, grinning. She hadn't sat her vigil yet, and figured this would be a perfect way to pass the time.
She settled next to her friend, giving him a small smile. "What d'you think this meeting is for?" She purred, nudging him with her paw. "Maybe you'll finally join me in the warrior's den,"

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Shrewpaw, please, step forward”.

"You've only been a warrior for like, less than a day," Shrewpaw replied, no aggression in his voice. He could obviously tell that she was joking. However, his eyes widened when Blizzardstar called his name. He still hadn't seriously thought that this would be his ceremony.

Blizzardstar took a deep breath “I, Blizzardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn” Her gentle eyes soon landed on the tom “Shrewpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”.

"I do," Shrewpaw replied casually, as if it was a decision he made every day. Though he was super glad that he was finally going to become a warrior, he didn't find the rank intimidating or something that required much more thought than being an apprentice did.

Blizzardstar smiled and nodded approvingly before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Shrewpaw, from this moment you will be known as Shrewheart. StarClan honors your fearlessness and determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

"Shrewheart! Shrewheart!" Sharptooth cheered wildly, jumping around her friend. "Congratulations! That means we'll be sitting vigil together tonight!" She nudged him with her forehead happily.

Shrewheart. Not bad. Now he would be able to easily boss around younger apprentices. He waited until Blizzardstar had finished the ceremony, then turned to Sharptooth. "That will be fun. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll even be able to fight off a fox or something tonight."

Birdflight walked up to the two new warriors. "Congratulations Shrewheart! Welcome to the rank of warrior!" She looked over at Sharptooth with a grin. "Sharptooth and Shrewheart, hope we can go on a patrol together one day!" she chirped. The calico warrior gave them both a farewell nod and resumed her previous activities.

Reedheart cheered up for his friend and started jumping around as he said his name. ”Shrewheart, Shrewheart!” He said as he approached but then he stopped suddenly, seeing that he was already surrounded by three cats... including his crush who seemed very interested in the newly appointed warrior. Stopping his congratulations, the tom just smiled at him from far and was happy for his new rank.
