Wildpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" Scorchfang meowed with a large smile on his face as he climbed up to the top of the ceremonial rock. Wildpaw, his younger brother and apprentice, was going to become a warrior today -- and he would be the deputy's very first apprentice to complete his training.

Wildpaw rushed out of the apprentice den towards the Jaggedrock and quickly sat down close to it. He hoped that the day had come when he becomes a warrior and by the look that his brother gave him he was almost completly sure that it was.
He smiled brightly and waited while the other cats gatherd around the rock.

"Today we gather to give an apprentice his warrior name," Scorchfang meowed, his voice filled to the brim with pride, as he looked down at his younger brother and soon to be former apprentice. "Wildpaw, step forward."

He continued on once his brother had done as he was told. "I, Scorchfang, deputy of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in her turn. Wildpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

He smiled at his deputy and nodded "I do" he meowed happly. He were so excited!

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Wildpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Wildstrike. StarClan honors your loyalty and self-improvement, and welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." Scorchfang had decided to honor Wildstrike for the same traits he himself had been honored when he earned his own warrior name moons ago, seeing as the two of them were so very similar. He approached the newly-named warrior and rested his muzzle on his forehead, purring softly. ”Congratulations, little brother. I'm so proud of you.”

He smiled as he heard the clan cheer is new name. He purred happly "Thank you for being the best mentor and brother. It's thanks to you that I've come this far".
