Wounded mentor and apprentice

Reedheart entered the camp helping Heatherpaw all the time. She was younger than him so she probably had more pain than him because of the wounds inflicted by that Shadowclan warrior. Making his way inside the medicine cat den, he let Heatherpaw in a nest, resting, as he walked a few steps more searching for Sageleaf or his twin sister. ”Hey! We need your help. Heatherpaw had been attacked by a warrior and she needs to be treated as soon as possible.” He mewed, waiting for one of the she-cats or both of them.

Heatherpaw softly whined when she finally settled in the comfortable moss. Her body stung and burned with the harsh wounds, and she really had no one to blame for them than herself. She knew she should've listened and stayed out of the territorial skirmish, but she was just so desperate to prove her worth to her mentor. She sighed sadly and rested her chin on her paws, trying to ignore the pain on her face and in her heart.

The grey and white she-cat's head shot up immediately. More injured cats... in leaf-fall of all times, she thought with an audible sigh. Neither cat looked like they were on their way to Starclan. However, the apprentice most certainly had wounds that would sting for a while. She set to work immediately. Sageleaf's paws sorted through piles, finding the right things. After rushing over, she cleaned up Heatherpaw's wounds. Chewing up the chervil and horsetail, the poultice was spat into the wound right away. This would stop the bleeding and prevent infection. Afterwards, Sageleaf gathered up some cobwebs and pressed them into the wound. The blood flow from the worst of them stopped rather quickly. Flicking her tail, the she-cat then turned to Reedheart.

Within a few moment, his scratches were cleaned up as well. Even if he was not as bad off as his apprentice, she flicked her tail towards the empty nest next to Heatherpaw. Reedheart could stay the  afternoon just to make sure there was no infection. Heatherpaw would at least be here for the night. With the coming cold season, and her age, there was less of a chance she would be able to stand easily against sickness and infection. Regardless, there was no doubt in Sageleaf's head that these would merely be scars in the future. With a sigh, she settled back on her haunches and looked over Reedheart, "What happened?" It was a habit of hers to know the nature of the wounds cats came to her with.

Sageleaf used heal on Reedheart and Heatherpaw.

Heatherpaw hissed and whimpered softly as the herbs stung her still fresh wounds, and she padded over to the moss-lined nest where the medicine cat had directed her to. She laid down in it, trying to get comfortable, her instincts itching to paw off the poultices and cobwebs in her fur. "Thank you..." she mewed softly.

The golden furred tom laid down next to Heatherpaw, just like Sageleaf told him to do and was glad that finally the pain was starting to fade slowly thanks to the herbs. Looking at the she-cat with worried eyes before turning his sight back to Sageleaf, he sighed, tired. ”Shadowclan. A Shadowclan warrior hunt a rabbit in our side of the Thunderpath and he started making fun of us, insulting our clan. I couldn’t stand it and I fight the trespasser but... he was more experienced than me and there was another warrior with him.”

"color=#00cc33]It was very brave of both of you to fight him off...[/color]" The grey and white she-cat muttered as she turned away. Even as the medicine cat in another clan now, she was still not able to fight off feelings of longing. To be a warrior, to defend the land, to be known as one of the greatest cats in the forest, that was the dream. It was a dream that managed to slip from her paws for eternity. A soft sigh left her maw as she stared at the pile of herbs. Her face contorted into a bit of a grimace before she caught sight of the poppy seed. Heatherpaw would need those. Quickly, she scooped up a couple and brought them back to the mentor and apprentice pair. Sageleaf managed a neutral expression as she meowed, "Take these. They will help ease the pain and let you sleep. Both of you need to rest up for now."

Heatherpaw blinked her thanks to Sageleaf before lapping up the tiny black seeds and swallowing. It didn't take long at all for all the inflicted pain to subside, and she felt comfortably drowsy. With a soft sigh, she curled up in the nest and fell asleep.
