Exploring Territory (Closed For Moonlight)

As Sprucepaw desperately hurried over to the camp entrance, she started wondering what kind of training she was going to do.  

OOC: What kind of training would you like your cat to get in this topic???

Moonlight was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of her apprentice to the warrior’s den. Usually she was the one that had to go liking for the apprentice as they would still be sleeping at this time of the day “Good morning, Sprucepaw. I guess you’re ready for training?”

OOC: We could start by exploring the territory :D
"I am" Sprucepaw mewed excitedly. "So what kind of training are we doing today?" Sprucepaw asked.

Moonlight nodded approvingly with her apprentice’s answer, after having to mentor a quite challenging apprentice having one that was so eager to learn was a nice change. Not wanting to disappoint she started to head towards the camp’s entrance and with a quick flick of her tail told her new apprentice to follow “First I’ll take you on a tour around the territory. The knowledge will help you out greatly on the future, both as an apprentice and warrior. I’ll try to go slow so you can look around and ask questions if you want to” With those words she finally left the camp, wondering if this would be Sprucepaw’s first time out or if she had sneaked out as a kit at some point.

"Ok, sounds good to me" Sprucepaw meowed as she followed Moonlight out of the camp with tingling paws.

Moonlight nodded and kept walking with a smile on her muzzle. In her mind she made a path across the territory that would allow them to reach as many places in as little time as possible without rushing things. Who knows? If they were lucky they could even get some hunting or border checking done as well. As they walked across the territory she was careful to point out the usual patrol routes in case she ever found herself in need of help she would know where to look for it, as well as those places she had labeled as good hunting spots.

The first time she stopped was when they arrived to the Halfstone. After a quick look around to make sure the coast was clear she cautiously approached, but still kept a good distance from it “This is the Halfstone, on warmer days this can prove to me an amazing hunting spot, but keep your guard very high whenever you’re around. This place is known for being home to foxes and if you don’t want to be in a deadly situation someday it would be wise for you to never come alone and, if possible, never go into the hollowed dens underneath. Few are the ones that do so and live to tell the tale”.

Sprucepaw shivered at the thought of going inside one of the hollowed dens that was underneath the Halfstone. "Alright" she mewed, still trying to get the thought out of her head.

Moonlight then moved on to the next relevant area that she wanted to take her apprentice to, Moonlit Creek, but not after making sure they had a safe dry pass. Luckily the water levels were low and the day was clear, so there wasn’t any evident dangers “This is the Moonlit Creek, it’s quite beautiful at night and a lot of prey can be usually found around here. Just be careful when it’s raining or when the water levels are high, as these waters can be a bit treacherous at times”.

Sprucepaw nodded, "Okay, where are we going to next?"

“To the borders” Her paws started to carry her swiftly across the territory once more, but she was careful to never walk too fast for her apprentice to follow her closely. The last thing she wanted was for Sprucepaw to get lost or get into accident. She didn’t stop walking until they arrived to the Highpine, the border they shared with ShadowClan. After making a quick signal with her tail for her apprentice to stop she finale spoke once more “What do you smell?"

Sprucepaw opened her jaw to sink in the scents of the forest, "I smell cats, and the scent also seems very deep and dark in a way" Sprucepaw described. "Is this the scent of one of the clans?" asked Sprucepaw

Moonlight smiled and nodded “What you smell is the scent of ShadowClan, one of our neighboring clans, you would be wise to try and memorize it in case someday you need it” She walked closer to the border until she was almost stepping over the border marks “This is the border we share with them. Exactly where I’m standing is where our territory ends, one more step and I would be on ShadowClan’s territory. They had tried to sneakily increase their territory by placing their own scent markings a tail length or so into our own territory before, reason why this is one of the most patrolled borders we have and our scent markings must always be placed exactly on the border to avoid this”.

Sprucepaw tilted her head, "Ok, but do we share any other borders with clans?."
