Just Another Skirmish [Closed]

ooc: Basically this fight is just gonna be cause by one side thinking the other is too close to the border. Doesn't matter which side does.

Shadowleaf was finally leading something other than a hunting patrol. Another warrior, and two apprentices just on a simple border patrol. Hopefully they wouldn't have a run in with some Riverclan cats. From what she understood the two didn't clans didn't get along that well. She didn't really spend her time worrying about the other clans so she didn't really know what it was like. Maybe she would find out today. Amber eyes looked back to make sure her patrol was still with her.

Tinytip was leading the patrol hoping that the border would as peaceful as she always saw it every time she went to the Sunningrocks. However, a strong scent reached her nose after she left the reeds that interrupted her sight of the river. A shiver of fear ran through her back, remembering her previous fight against Thunderclan in the Gorge and how bad it ended. But she didn't show anything of that to her clanmates. Instead, she stopped her steps and looked back at the patrol with concerned but mature eyes. "I can smell Thunderclan cats near here. We must still do our duty of marking the border but we have to be careful." She said softly, stepping closing to the rocks.

OOC: Okay :) Probably Tinytip will not start the fight since she's not the fiery type of cat. She would join only if it's necessary so don't expect too much of her.

Finchstream plodded along a few steps behind Tinytip, gazing around with curious golden eyes at the quickly shifting surroundings of the forest across the river.  The beautiful orange, yellow, and brown shades mixed with the last remnants of green was a stunning sight, and the whimsical young warrior was much more interested in the wonder of leaf-fall than the patrol ahead of them.  It was only when the other petite warrior spoke that her attention was lifted from the river rushing near their paws, gazing at her curiously.  Her warning of the rival clan caused her stomach to twist a bit fearfully, but Finchstream nodded calmly and began to tread more carefully.  Oh please StarClan, don't let there be an encounter!  I've gotten lucky so far...no!  It's going to be fine

(occ: same with Finch, she's actually scared of fighting/blood so this is her worst nightmare.  But alas, there must be character development C:)

Sharppaw plodded behind Shadowleaf, her head low and swinging every step like a bear's. She'd convinced herself that going out of camp would help her clear her mind, but now she wasn't so sure. Everything she'd ever known was suddenly just... wrong. Outdated.
Specklefang thought that rouges were bad, right? But what had she said that one time? 'As long as they prove themselves, they're worthy.'
Then why was she mad at Shadowleaf? Surely the gray and white warrior had earned her name and proven herself to be a capable warrior.

Her ears twitched as they neared the river, a familiar gushing roar making her fur stand on end. She couldn't stand the water- it made her fur sticky and clumpy, and even heavier then usual. She grimaced when she straightened up, her muscles squealing in protest. Not only was training with Leopardclaw tedious and exhausting, her bones now ached as well. What did she do to deserve this?

(OOC: Sharppaw can totally start the fight!)

Nightpaw walked behind Shadowleaf and Sharppaw. The new apprentice was in awe of her surroundings. She has never been to this part of the territory or any of the territory for that matter. She picked up her pace to where she was beside her older step-sister. "S-sharppaw, have you been here before?" she asked softly.

Snowpaw padded along at the tail end of the patrol, taking in everything with wide, awestruck eyes. This was her first patrol along the ThunderClan border, and she couldn't believe how big the territories were! The forest floor was carpeted with a stunning array of fire-colored leaves, making silent travel all but impossible. The sky above shone a vibrant blue in the spaces not cluttered with fluffy white clouds, the same color as her own pelt. The air was brisk and chilly, but her fur kept her from being cold. Oblivious to the world, the young apprentice took in the sights, not paying attention to her Clanmates' apprehension.

Lakepaw padded beside Snowpaw in an almost identical sort of awe. He was basically a brand new apprentice, and therefore, this was his first patrol to the ThunderClan border. His nose was still a bit overwhelmed with all of the new scents flooding in, but his eyes were wide and never lingering in one spot for more than a second. There seemed to be so much.. world! It was mesmerizing, the beautiful and vibrant colors of the leaves and the tinkling sound of the river could almost put the young tom to sleep on his paws.

He was so caught up in the sights and smells, that he almost forgot he was with his clanmates and ungracefully bumped into Snowpaw. "Oh, sorry Snowpaw. Guess I should watch where I'm putting my paws." He meowed, laughing off the embarrassment that was heating his pelt.

ooc: Alright Sharppaw can start it then!

Shadowleaf let out a small growl as she scented Riverclan near by. It was just her luck that they ended up encountering one another. "Riverclan.." She warned her patrol as they continued on following the border. Hopefully they wouldn't start anything but who knows what would happen..

The little warrior led the patrol with all her senses put in the Thunderclan territory. After marking the border with her scent for a few moments, she finally gazed the other patrol. Even if she wanted to run and avoid a battle, she had to stay for her warrior's duty. Her responsibility was to mark the borders and that what she was going to do, no matter what. She wished she could have no worries like Lakepaw and Snowpaw... just like she was a young apprentice learning about the world. But those days... were gone since her first battle in the gorge. She couldn't naive and happy all the time like them. There were things she had affront.

As much as she was trying to keep herself calm, Finchstream's paws began to tremble nervously as they came within view of the ThunderClan patrol, her heart racing as she helped Tinytip mark the border.  There was tension thick in the air, and the small silver warrior could only pray that her worst fears wouldn't come to fruition.  As much as it shamed her, the young she-cat caught herself glancing around behind her, making sure there was a clear route to run away if need be.  No, you must stay beside your clanmates!  You swore an oath that you would...don't be such a coward!  With a shaking breath, the long-furred tabby tried her best to continue on with the patrol as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

Sharppaw turned to her half-sister, her tail twitching in amusement and annoyance. "Of course!" She grunted, rolling her green eyes. "This is one of the most important places to patrol." Sharppaw wasn't entirely sure that what she was saying was true, but it certainly sounded impressive. She turned to Shadowleaf, wincing slightly. "Riverclan?" Every complaint she had was pushed to the back of her mind and temporarily forgotten. A skirmish was just what she needed! "Hey Fishfaces!" She barked. "Why don't you come out and play? Or is your petty clan too weak to even cross a river?"

Snowpaw was startled out of her awed state as the other apprentice on the patrol, Lakepaw, accidentally bumped into her. "Oof!" The world became a little more real as she left her reverie. The she-cat turned around to see the tom looking embarrassed, hastily apologizing. He looked... nice. Had she seen him around camp before? They seemed to be about the same age. She blushed a little bit as he laughed. "Don't worry, it's no problem," she replied, trying to seem confident. All her regular self-assurance seemed to have blown out the window, but a strange, glowing kind of happiness was present in her eyes.

As Snowpaw stood there for a moment, still looking at him, a taunting voice came from the other side of Sunningrocks. ThunderClan. Her head whipped around, staring at the large gray she-cat across the border. The apprentice bristled as the strange cat called out a few insults. She'd never seen ThunderClanners before... were they all this mean? The young she-cat wasn't used to insults. She was a brand-new apprentice, after all. Her fluffy snow-white pelt felt hot, and her face flamed red, the happy feeling she had felt a few moments before suddenly gone. The RiverClan she-cat looked down at the ground, wishing she could shrink down and hide in the water.

Lakepaw smiled sheepishly at the white-pelted she-cat before finally, a whiff of something somewhat familiar hit his nose. ThunderClan.. He thought as soon as he realized they were almost on the border. He glanced around alertly, tail tip twitching with anticipation, as he waited for instruction from the two warriors ahead of him and Snowpaw. He'd never met any other clan cats before, and he was admittedly a bit excited. What if there's a battle? He thought just as an unfamiliar voice drifted towards him. Growling softly at the taunt, he glanced towards Finchstream and Tinytip for instruction.

Nightpaw's pelt bristtled with anxiety and worry. She shot her sister an angry but nervous look. What if this resulted in an unecessary battle? She knew not to hold back her half-sister when she's like this. The she-cat sure hoped she wasn't going to get dragged into a battle.

OOC: I'm so sorry for not posting in a while! I've been drowning in school work ;-;

"Yeah! That's right- be scared!" Sharppaw grunted, trotting away from her patrol and towards the Riverclanners. "You better back off!" She hissed, lifting one paw threateningly towards the nearest apprentice (Lakepaw), and lifting her lip in a snarl. The fluffy she-cat batted at the apprentice's nose tauntingly. "Lookit that! I bet you can't even fight back!"
