A Tiny Moon’s Last Blessing [Open after the kits are born, Meddies needed]

Moonlight found herself yet again inside the nursery, the feelings inside her bittersweet as she gave her swollen belly some loving licks. Not long ago she had lost both Cherrymist and Pansyface, the loss still heavy in her hearth as she mourned for her two daughters. But there was new life growing in her belly now, a new hope for the grieving couple, a new ray of sunshine in their darkened lives.

Being somewhat experienced now in the whole process of giving birth she could easily distinguish between the usual contractions that being pregnant brought with it and those that warned her about her kits’ birth, which in turn allowed her to not freak out and give out false alarms like she did with her first litter. So as soon as she distinguished her first birthing contraction she faced towards the entrance of the nursery and called for the medicine cats and her mate “Oceanlight! Rabbitfoot! Tinylegs! The kits are coming!”.

The cry from the queen that Rabbitfoot had been tending to for quite some time came as no surprise to the medicine cat. In fact, she had been expecting it any day now. Grabbing some raspberry leaves from the dwindling pile and a stick, she ran into the nursery to find Moonlight. Without a second thought, the she-cat placed the raspberry leaves in front of the queen, resting the stick close by. "Chew on the leaves for a few heartbeats. They'll help with the pain. I'm sure you know what to do by now, right Moonlight?" She then moved to pressing down on the queen's belly. "They're definitely ready! When you are ready, push Moonlight!"

Moonlight smiled at Rabbitfoot as she rushed in and followed her instructions without asking, trying to not look too bothered by the contractions to not make her worry even if she really was in a considerable yet known amount of pain. She waited until the Medicine Cat gave her the signal to pick up the stick and follow the same procedure she had done so many times before to bring these new kits to the world, her jaws keeping a grip so tight on the stick that it looked like it could break at any second as she did.

A small, silver spotted she-kit broke free of her mother, crawling into the world completely blind and deaf. By instinct, she navigated towards her mother and began to suckle.

Another she-cat rolled out, her fur just slightly darker than her sister. She mewed and crawled over to join her littermate on her mother's belly.

Another kit soon joined her two siblings already born but this one was light grey. She mewled and crawled towards her mother’s belly, where she soon found her mother’s milk.

Hearing his mate yowl that the kits were coming, Tinylegs sprinted to the nursery as fast as his little legs would allow him.

Skidding to a halt, the small tom nudged Moonlight's cheek, attempting to confront her as much as possible. Looking to the small bundles of fur that laid on the ground, the tom let out a purr of contentment. "StarClan has blessed us with kits once more," he mewed softly and sat down. With his age and deformities, this little would most likely be his last, but even so, he wasn't going to let the thought of growing old put his spirits down.

"They're wonderful," the tiny tom spoke and gave his mate a gentle lick on the top of her head.

The second born kit rolled over with a loud meow, then crawled back to her mother.

The first born spotted kit huffed in apparent annoyance at the disturbance her sister caused, then went back to suckling.
