The Blazing Raven (training topic)

Blazingwing stretched as he exited the warriors den, his mind focused on his new apprentice. It was a good day to train - the dazzling beams of sunlight would lure unsuspecting prey out of their dens, and bugs were already buzzing through the air. He lazily groomed his messy, unkempt pelt and padded over to the entrance of the apprentice den. Blazingwing attempted to remember what his former mentor had done on his first day of training before speaking. "Ravenpaw, we're training", he purred, his bushy tail curled up in the air. His tired but warm gaze rested on the young cat's pelt.

Ravenpaw groaned and got up from his nest. He padded out and sat in front of his mentor and looked at him.

Blazingwing smiled as his new apprentice exited his den and returned the young tom's gaze before motioning with his tail towards the fresh-kill pile. "You can have something to eat if you want," he mewed, "Or if you want we could start now."

"Lets just go now." He meowed and got up. The apprentice almost reached to Blazingwing's shoulder, and he was proud of that. He'd have a long way to go to reach his mother.

"Follow me." Blazingwing mewed, turning away from the apprentice and walking into the woods. Weaving around trees and growing shrubs, he found a sunlit clearing in the trees. Good enough for training. "Now, I want you to try and attack me. Give it your best shot, but don't expect to win," he instructed, steadying himself and planting his large front paws onto the ground. He narrowed his eyes at Ravenpaw, his teeth slightly bared in a faint snarl. His back fur raised to make him look bigger and more intimidating - he'd have to act like he was an opposing warrior ready to fight.

Ravenpaw followed Blazingwing. When he heard his mentor wanted him to attack him he smirked. He got into a crouch his large bushy tail lashing behind him. The black and gray apprentice gave a feral growl and unsheathed his claws. His yellow eyes narrowed to slits and with a snarl the heavy apprentice dig his feet into the ground before springing off and lunging for his mentor. The apprentice tackled his mentor, using his weight to throw him off balance. Ravenpaw smirked again, he wasn't afraid to throw his weight and bulk around, even if it was his mentor, he would not hold back.

Blazingwing was a bit startled when Ravenpaw lunged at him, claws unsheathed, but flung the apprentice off of him with a strong kick of his hind legs. He growled and pounced into the air, landing right on top of the apprentice. Then, taking note of Ravenpaw's size, he slumped down onto him, fastening his claws into the earth and keeping him pinned to the ground. Now it was his turn to smirk.  "Pretty good for your first try," he growled, "But your cockiness is your weakness." His tail lashed as he kept the apprentice pinned under his weight, his eyes narrowed and icy.

Ravenpaws eyes narrowed and he licked his mentor as hard as he could, enough to throw him a foxlength away. With a growl the apprentice leaped onto his mentors back and grabbed him by the scruff.

As he was kicked away, Blazingwing lifted himself up only to be pounced upon again by his apprentice. However, he was ready this time. The large ginger-and-brown tom quickly flipped onto his back, crushing Ravenpaw under his weight. Then, hopping onto his paws, he hit the gray-and-black tom with a strong blow to the muzzle, his teeth bared.

Ravenpaw flattened his ears and stalked around his mentor looking for a good spot to strike. Suddenly the tom grabbed Blazingwing's tail and yanked on it stunning him momentarily before bowling the tom over and pinning him, digging his claws into the ground.

Blazingwing, stunned, lay still as his apprentice pinned him to the ground. Then, he readied his two back legs, his mind going back to when he was a young apprentice, and unsheathed his claws. Out of the blue, he began to kick and scratch at Ravenpaw's belly as hard as he could, his lips pulled back in a vicious snarl. He stared, unblinking, into Ravenpaw's eyes as he freed himself with a forceful kick, sending his apprentice sprawling to the ground.

Ravenpaw sprang up o to his paws and hissed. Lunging forward again Ravenpaw leaped over the tom, grabbed his scruff and pulled back, digging his paws into the ground and pulling backwards to make Blazingwing fall onto his back.

Blazingwing quickly jumped to his paws and spun around with his paws outstretched, scoring Ravenpaw across the nose. Then, lifting himself up onto his hind legs, he forcefully batted the apprentice to the ground, hissing and spitting. He then leapt onto his back, holding his scruff tightly in his jaws and digging his claws into the soil.

Specklefang saw her son and his mentor leave the camp, deciding to see if she could grab any pointers from her clan-mates she followed. Albeit without them knowing, she didn't want to ruin the session or for them to know she was even bothering to learn from them. She watched the tussle with wide eyes, a sneer marking her face as she cheered on her son.

Then her son tugged Blazingwings tail, tugged it, and then pinned him. She couldn't be prouder until Blazingwing unsheathed his claws and started ripping at her sons belly before sending him sprawling, worry dropped her belly and anger made her muscles tense as she shot into the clearing, ripping her son away from Blazingwing before she unsheathed her claws and collided into the tom, her anger fuelling her as she drew back a paw and slammed it into Blazingwings face sending him sprawling in turn.

"How dare you harm my son!" She screeched, she gutted out her jaw and exposed her teeth. She completely dwarfed the tom as she rolled her shoulders forwards, her tail lashing up a storm as she approached. Her green eyes blazed as she approached him, a mothers fury was surely something. Once she was over him she brought back a paw and slammed it onto the top of the toms head before grabbing his scruff and slamming him into the ground, not once or twice, but three times.

Specklefang was heaving with the effort, she stood over him with massive paws on each side of the tom. "If you get up, I will kill you and send you straight down to the dark forest where you belong. Don't you move a single muscle if you even have an inkling of common sense." She growled chillingly.

As his mom showed up Ravenpaw jumped up and ran over. "Mom! Dont! It didn't even hurt that much! Plus he was just teaching me how to fight!" He meowed.
