Dogkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, ready for another ceremony “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Dogkit had never seen a clan meeting, so when Blizzardstar yowled for one, he hurried over to see what the news was.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on, smiling at her adoptive son as she spoke "Dogkit, please, step forward”.

Dogkit jumped up. Him? Why him? He thought. He bounced forward after giving his matted fur a few washes.

Blizzardstar gave a reassuring smile at Dogkit before talking again “Dogkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Dogpaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Daylight. I hope he passes down all he knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Dogkit was elated. Daylight! He hoped he would be the best mentor ever and he set off in search of him.

Daylight smiled and bent down to touch his apprentices nose. His chest was covered and cobwebs and he coughed. "Ill do all I can to teach you. Let's hope you become a great warrior like my mother." He purred giving Blizzardshine an affectionate look only a son could. "How about you go grab a piece of prey and we get started eh?" He meowed smiling through his pain. He wouldn't let anybody know he was hurt not even Rabbitfoot.

Dogkit touched noses back and started towards the prey pile, then to get a nap.

Leafstorm felt his heart swell with pride. His son was on the way to becoming a warrior, and he couldn't be prouder.
