Local Apprentices Ruin Everything

It was a boring sunhigh in the SkyClan camp, with all the warriors who were not on patrol lounging around, sharing tongues and catching sun. Rippedsky was busy handling his duties as temporary leader, so his watchful gaze was not on the camp and his attention was elsewhere. A bored apprentice, Dandelionpaw, laid there, devoid of all excitement until an idea popped into her head. She pulled aside some other SkyClan apprentices and whispered to them.

"Psst! We should go out and do something. It's too boring around here," she said to them.

Leafpaw turned to the rest of his patrol with a grin. He had been an apprentice for way too long- three moons! -and he was proud to show how well he had learned the territory. He picked his way in no general direction, just closer to the Skyclan-Thunderclan border.

Lionpaw glanced in confusion at Dandelionpaw. She seemed very eager to get out of camp, but the tribe tom had never gone anywhere in the territory without his mentor. But she had been an apprentice for longer than him andnmore experienced, and the ginger cat wondered if this was normal for clan cats. "Are we allowed to go out? In the mountains, cats who went out alone got taken by eagles or just didn't come home." Lionpaw meowed with concern, although he was fairly curious about the territory.

Falconpaw plodded along, his eyes skimming through the trees for whatever he could pounce on. If there was a living thing in the forest... He felt a burning envy for the territory of SkyClan now, hunger, exhaustion, fear, did SkyClan have to deal with it? Not really at all.

Dandelionpaw replied confidently, "We don't have eagles in SkyClan territory and there haven't been any badgers or foxes recently. As for if we're allowed to go... it's okay, as long as our mentors don't find out about any trouble."

She, of course, was rather irresponsible about staying in camp, unbeknownst to Rippedsky. Ever since Rosepaw had taken her outside as a kit, she'd been sneaking out through the secret exit through the nursery. If the nursery was full, however, she just went through the dirtplace. Hopefully she'd grow out of this eventually...

Although he still had his doubts, the idea of going off by themselves to explore was too tempting to turn down. As long as Swoop never found out, they'd be alright. Lionpaw grinned at Dandelionpaw and finally meowed, "Oh, alright. As long as we are really, really careful. And maybe we could bring food back, too! Do you know how to leave without being seen?" The cream tom asked, energy buzzing through his limbs a the idea of escape.
