Ginger stretched, his red tail flicking. He glanced out the barn- it was almost dawn. He was late.
With a sigh he leapt up to where Ruddy was sleeping and poked him with a paw. "Ruddy- hey Ruddy, it's time for training."
At long last the cat stirred. Ginger rolled his eyes and padded out of the barn. "Today I'm going to teach you how to chase rabbits," He called. Back in Windclan this hadn't been his strong point, but Ruddy needn't know about that. The sleek white tom wrapped his ginger tail around his paws as he often did when he was thinking. He was determined that Ruddy would be everything 'Gingerpaw' wasn't. His ears flicked and he shot a nervous glance in the direction of the clans- Ruddy wouldn't be going anywhere near them if he could help it. No, he'd live a perfect life, away from the laws and codes of the clans.

Ruddy scrambled out of the barn, following Ginger. He had learned the tom's name only a few hours before, and it still felt awkward using it. To Ruddy, Ginger would simply be 'The Cat'.
"Rabbit hunting?" He mewed excitedly, his tail held at a jaunty angle. "Cool!" He cleared his throat. "I mean, uhh... Rabbit hunting?
Alright, I guess. I mean, I could probably have already done it without you, but I appreciate the help."
The red tom wrapped his tail around his paws, mimicking Ginger as best he could. He wanted to make him proud, and he'd do whatever it would take.
