Little chat (Closed for Ripped)

Rosepaw padded up to her father, her eyes full of concern. It was the next afternoon from the fire and the mysterious mist that saved them. It still confused Rosepaw as to how Mist could save them from a fire. How can that be possible? Was it Starclan maybe? Her father, Rippedsky, has not slept since then. She was able to get some sleep but not much since all she can think about it how close her clan was from being eaten by the fire. But it was not good for him to be up this long, he should at least try to get some sleep. After all it won`t be good for any cat at this rate if he drops out of exhaustion.

"Rippedsky, you need some rest." She was able to mumble out she wanted to say much more but she had no idea how he would take her concern.

The deputy's paws ached and every inch of muscle screamed for rest. After the fire, there had been no chance for him to stop moving. His black and white fur was ruffled from having not been cleaned anytime recently. After the fire, the clan needed him more than ever. Thankfully, there had not been much damage done before the mysterious mist appeared and erased almost any trace of the orange flame. All of the damage was minimal. Regardless, his heart felt like it was pounding enough to keep him up for the next moon. When Rosepaw padded up, Rippedsky blinked a couple of times as he registered her words. He felt like a mousebrain with how long it took him to understand such a simple phrase.

"Rest?" Rippedsky meowed as if it were a foreign concept. His deep blue eyes blinked a couple of times slowly. After a bit of hesitation, the warrior tom began to nod, "I suppose you are right, Rosepaw. But there is still so much to be done..." He cast a worried gaze over the camp. Bits of the wall and undergrowth were charred. However, the repair progress had been swift. Despite all of the things they had done so far within their own territory, the deputy could not help but fret over how the other clans were faring. Without a doubt, Riverclan would be fine due to the nature of their territory, and Shadowclan was a similar circumstance. However, they had yet to know about both Windclan and Thunderclan. His mind darkened at the thought of the forest dwelling clan. If it was what he suspected, they certainly needed help.

As Rosepaw padded closer to Rippedsky she could see that he looked like he was going to fall at any moment now. She signed at the thought of what made him like this, that fire and strange Mist that saved us. Honestly she had no idea how to feel about it, Mist don`t stop fires like that. Or at least she didn`t think so. But at least it was taken care of before it destroyed their whole camp. But it was concerning that the other clans were on fire too..it looked like some set up, or some stupid twolegs.

Her blue eyes met his as he looked down to her, she nodded slowly. "Yes I know, but it won`t be good for anybody if their deputy runs himself to the ground. Why don`t you at least take a small rest or something?" She followed his gaze around camp, it brought a small smile to her face at seeing the once scarred camp wall slowly was coming back to what it was before. Within a few days it would seem like the camp was never attacked by fire, she can`t say the same about their territory though.

"I suppose you're right." He sighed wearily. There was a lot of truth to the young cat's words. Rippedsky managed a soft smile as he asked, "Would you like to share a meal with your old father? I'm sure we could both use it." The deputy looked down at one of his daughters. They hadn't spent much time together given he was so busy with his duties. A break sounded nice too. He padded towards the freshkill pile. With all of the patrols sent out lately, it was generously stocked. His teeth snagged a plump robin that he planned to share with Rosepaw. For the first time, he was looking forwards to taking a break.

"I am right!" She nodded to him. He needed to see this was not healthy for him. At his question she blinked at him, they never really get much time to share meals or anything because of his duties. Which she understands completely. But that question threw her off she was not expecting it in the slightest. "Um yeah sure." She followed him to the big fresh kill pile smiling at the prey piled up.

Sinking his teeth into the warm flesh of the bird, a purr rumbled in the tom's chest. Hunger had been forgotten underneath the chaos of the past couple days. It felt good to finally eat something. Rippedsky pushed the bird over to his daughter to take a bite as well. He looked at Rosepaw and thought about the fact they had never spent much time together. Given he had so many children, it was tough to get to see all, and especially with all of his deputy duties. However, he loved getting to take time away with his kits. The tom was grateful she had pulled him away from work for a bit. Through the mouthful of his meal, Rippedsky mumbled, "How has your training been going?"

Rosepaw watched as her father bit into the bird happy that he is finally eating something. She just noticed how thin he looks through his ragged fur. Signing lightly at her father`s frame she blinked as she was passed the bird. Taking a bite of it she made sure to take a small bite though, she was hungry but he obviously needed it more then she did. She pushed back the bird as he asked his question through her mouthful she mumbled, "Oh well its been going okay...I think I have learned everything pretty quickly so far.." This was awkward small talk. "So..um how do you think the other clans are fairing from the fire?"

He nodded gratefully to his kit and quickly bit into the bird once more. The flavor flooded his mouth and for a moment he remembered how great it felt to eat. Depriving oneself of food was never a good option. Rippedsky listened carefully as she briefly talked about her training. It had been a good decision giving Lilyheart his daughters to train. The young warrior had proven herself to be a wonderful mentor. Not only had she taken on Rosepaw, but Swanpaw as well. Before he could reply, she shot back her own question. The deputy had been about to grab another quick bit, but stopped instantly. His head straightened instantly to look at his kit. She had grown so fast already. One moment, Rosepaw had been mewling at her mother's milk swollen belly, and in what seemed like the next, she was a hard working apprentice who showed concern for the other clans as well. A brief moment of pride swelled up in his chest at seeing how she had grown. Where has the time gone?

Once the nostalgic moment was over, he considered how to best answer her question. There was no doubt that if this rogue cat had an agenda against more than his own clan, all of the clans would have been hit. Those with water saturated territories would be fine. However, the less fortunate would have many problems on their paws. There was the possibility that the random force that had save his clan had helped the others as well. Regardless, he planned on checking. Finally, Rippedsky meowed, "I'm not quite sure. Shadowclan and Riverclan should be well. Windclan and Thunderclan may have some problems... I plan on taking a patrol to Thunderclan territory. They would have been hit the worst, if anything."
