| It'd been a few sunrises since she'd met the group of outsiders, and so far, life for Kindleblaze wasn't going so great. She'd never realized how essential being in a clan was, and while she though that she'd have no trouble living on her own, she'd been proven otherwise. Sleeping without the warmth and comfort of her clanmates had been extremely hard for her to deal with, and outside of clan territory, there wasn't as much prey, so hunting had been quite difficult. Not to mention the fact that Kindleblaze had to constantly stay on guard for hostile rogues that wanted to steal potential prey, and she felt like she had to compete for everything around here.
Sitting in a small, flimsy Twoleg structure that sat near the bottom of a large metal bin in an alleyway between some Twoleg houses that was lined with large white fences on either side, Kindleblaze listened to her stomach growl and let out a sigh. The box that she sat in gave her enough shelter, for now, but it seemed pretty unstable and she wondered how long it would keep together. Luckily for her, rogues didn't seem to care about fighting over shelter (seeing that they probably already had better means of shelter than her), so she was able to keep her spot. Hopefully she could find a better place to stay later on, but for now, it would do.
After she'd met the rogues and the somewhat overly friendly Kittypet, she hadn't really been to keen on wandering too far away from clan territory, even if it meant a warn barn with mice, so here she was, alone and afraid, again. While she knew that she needed to be productive, all the dark grey she-cat could do was sit in her sorrow, wishing that she was with her family again. Of course the thought of attempting to join another clan had crossed her mind a couple of times, but she just couldn't bring herself to think about living with another clan, even if it meant leaving this lonesome place.
Lost in thought, Kindleblaze perked her ears when the sound of something caught her attention. Looking around the sunrise filled area, the she-cat peered out of the box and onto the top of one of the white fences, where a cat's silhouette sat. Since she was at a bad angle and the sun hadn't fully risen yet, it was hard to tell who the cat was, and she tilted her head in curiosity, taking a guess at who they were from their slightly short and fluffy stature.
"Hello?" she mewed softly, not letting her gaze leave the white structure, but also making sure to keep her ears listening for anything or anyone that might try to sneak up behind her. |
