Hazefur had made her was silently out of WindClan's camp, being sure that no other cat dared to follow her. It was late, the dull moon rising slowly into the sky as a few thin clouds trickled by overhead. She lead two of her kits, Icekit and Sleetkit through the dry grasses, making sure to keep them walking on their own for as long as they could till she would need to pick one of the two up and carry them one at a time. It would be exhausting, but what she had planned needed to get done, and without delay.

She paused for a brief moment, lowering her muzzle to nudge Icekit forward, in a way to motivate the youngster to keep walking. "We'll be there soon," she mewed in a soft, comforting tone. "You'll be with your father soon..." She trailed off, raising her head as she realized the rapids of the gorge sounded from not too far off. There was an area along on of the gorges edges where the land grew closer, making it easy for a cat to jump across, that's how she would get her two kits across.

After a bit more walking, the trio soon paused at the ledge. Hazefur dropped her tail protectively over the two kits, leaning forward to cast a cautious look down into the gorge, where she could see rapids rushing below in a rush of swirls. Lifting her head and backing away from the gorge herself she looked up again, eyes landing on the other side, where she hopped to see Rainstorm.

This game wasn't fun anymore! At first, it seemed like the best adventure in the world- Hazefur was only taking Icekit and Sleetkit out on a secret little mission that none of their other siblings got to partake in. Now that they had been walking for what seemed like several moons, Sleetkit struggled to keep up with her mother and sister now, often lagging behind the pair due to how her little pads ached from walking so far. 'Was this really all of Windclan's territory?! It seemed so big!'

"Where are we going?" She finally squeaked, feeling much too tired to be excited at this point, "Are we gonna go visit Smokepelt on patrol?" Sleetkit questioned again, innocently inquiring after the tom she believed her father to be. Her pale grey and white fur was clumped together in awkward patches as she staggered to a halt against Hazefur, pressing herself against her mother in expectation of receiving a few comforting gestures. The small grey and white kit's ears perked slightly at the roar of the Gorge, but she merely pressed closer to Hazefur once more, letting out high-pitched mewls of confusion, b.umping her head affectionately against her mothers foreleg.

His whole body tickled as if fleas were biting at his pelt. The tom couldn't contain himself as he rushed towards the gorge, his paws muscles burning from the excessive force he was using. Besides swimming, RiverClan cats didn't get much opportunity to stretch their legs, and with the river just recently thawing, most cats in his clan were stiff from the cold Leafbare.

Yet, Rainstorm didn't mind the burn as he rushed towards the border. Hazefur was waiting for him. With their kits! The thought of having kits again after leaving Dewpelt never crossed his mind until now. While he wasn't grateful his kits were born away from him, he was happy nonetheless. Hazefur was the perfect she-cat to bare his children, whether the two waiting for him would grow up knowing it or not.

His gallop came to a stop as he spotted the grey and white queen sitting with two small bundles of fur at her feet. As he approached, he thanked his lucky stars they hadn't inherited their grandfather's brown pelt. No one knows how Smokepelt would have reacted if they did. While his own fur had hints of the dusky tom, his mother's grey had dominated, leaving him with his slightly dirt-coloured pelt. This didn't transfer over to the two kits hidden behind Hazefur's tail. With a sigh of relief, he finally came into their view.

Bunching up his back legs, he leapt over the small break in the land. Rainstorm purred as he nearly pounced on his mate. "I've missed you..." he whispered in her ear while nuzzling her face.
