Cinderpaw returned Sparkwillow`s purr her eyes showing how happy she was. Her short legs will not hold her down! She kicked harder to follow Sparkwillow wanting to stick by her side in cause something went wrong.

Her smile disappeared through as Sparkwillow explained their next exercise she gulped looking unsure but she nodded anyways. She saw Sparkwillow disappear under the water then a moment later a small wave came at her followed by another then another. Having no idea what to do she kicked out against the direction the wave was which was the opposite direction leading her towards the opposite shore. She kicked her legs again towards the right direction this time facing the waved head on she managed to kick her legs hard enough taking deep breaths of air as the water hit her face. Slowly she made her way towards Sparkwillow.

"Good job!" Sparkwillow meowed, a bright spark in her eye as she saw that Cinderpaw was doing excellently. "C'mon, follow me out of the water, let's try hunt something."

Quickly, the warrior slipped out of the water, giving her fur a shake to get the worst of the water off before waiting at the pool's edge for her apprentice to follow. She had a few ideas in mind. There was the beech copse, but birds tended to be hard to catch. Maybe a frog around here would be good, and if it bolted towards the water, Cinderpaw would swim for it.

Cinderpaw purred as Sparkwillow`s compliment, "Thank you! I can`t wait to hunt something!" Cinderpaw smiled at the spark in her mentor`s eye. Her mentor was proud of her!

Silently she followed Sparkwillow out of the water with a bit of problem but she managed she padded to shore and gave her pelt a shake following what Sparkwillow does. Accidentally spraying Sparkwillow with bits of water. She shrugged lightly at her mentor shyly smiling, "S-orry." She shivered, she was not used to getting wet. She can`t wait to try to hunt something, maybe she might actually catch some prey for the first time!

"It's fine." Sparkwillow took the initiative to quickly help her apprentice dry off with a few rough licks. It was Greenleaf, but she remembered the first time she'd gone swimming and had to dry off. The sensation of wet fur clumping wasn't exactly fun, and she had the blessing of a short pelt.

While she helped her apprentice, she kept her ears open for something that they could catch. Eventually, a faint sound of a croak caught her attention. "Cinderpaw, show me your hunter's crouch." She demonstrated by pressing her belly low so that her fur lightly brushed the earth and her haunches were high. Her pupils widen, and a smile split her face.

Cinderpaw groomed the water off her when Sparkwillow suddenly helped her. Stiffing about to back away, not used to the feeling of another one on her other then Morningfog. When she gave in slowly rather wanting the water off of her thicker fur then refusing her mentor's help.

Too busy washing herself to hear the croak, she looked up to see what Sparkwillow was doing. Nodding she followed what the other did first pressing her belly low fine making sure her thick fur brushed against the grass. Her haunches were high like Sparkwillow and her pupils widened. Her paws and footing were slightly off since her legs were short it felt weirder then normal for her to do this.

"Good, now look over there." She gestured with her jaw. "It's a frog, go stalk over and try catch it. It's your first go, don't worry if you miss." Sparkwillow waited eagerly to see if she succeeded or not.

Cinderpaw looked over to the frog and nodded quietly. She was determined not to make any noise as she stalked forward keeping constant eye on it. Surprisingly her footing and stance was pretty good.

"Good job! I can't believe you caught your first piece of prey. Let's take it back to camp, Cinderpaw." Sparkwillow meowed with pride. It seemed that she'd been worried about her apprentice all for nothing. Cinderpaw was a natural.

Cinderpaw could not believe her eyes or her jaw as she carried the frog over to her mentor. "I caught it, Sparkwillow!" She said after a moment her eyes ablaze with happiness and excitement. She just caught her first prey! All she needed was a small nudge and she did it! Maybe she is not so worthless with her legs, she can still hunt. She beamed up at her mentor nodding to her, "Okay! Morningfog would be so proud of me. I can't wait to hunt more!" She was about to say more but she decided it was time to go home and show the other kits what she caught. "Thanks Sparkwillow!" Her voice was muffled through the frog. She really means it, it was all because of Sparkwillow's guideness that she managed to get this frog after all.
