Duskkit and Echokit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leopardstar climbed the Jaggedrock again, tail swishing behind him. He looked out over the camp and called the summons. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey join here beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Duskkit bounced up and down his paws tingling. I am gonna be an apprentice! Oh my Starclan yes! Wiggling around, he looked for Echokit. Finding her, he bounded over and looked at her tidy fur. Looking back at his own, he saw it all crazy. Grooming himself, Duskkit flattened the hairs that were poking out. Turning back to Echokit he said, "Lez go! We are gonna be apprentices!" Walking off, Duskkit tried to look unafraid.  Finally making it to the front of the beginning  crowd, the kit sat down with his tail over his paws.

Ambernose padded out after her two kits. She smiled some as she looked to them pride shining in her eyes as she let them go.

Roaringkit watched his siblings with happiness, glad that they were becoming apprentices. He thought of Duskkit's strength and quick thinking, Echokit's friendliness and open mind, and couldn't help but think that they were going to become amazing warriors. Though he would be one of the last of their litter to still be a kit, Roaringkit found that he didn't mind at all. He couldn't wait for the ceremony to begin.

Echokit was filled with excitement her heart threatening to burst out of her chest. "I can't wait!!" She padded next to Duskkit her paws tingling with so much happiness. It was finally her turn! She will be the greatest warrior who ever lived! She puffed up her smooth fur as she walked to sit beneath Jaggedrock.

She did feel bad for Roaringkit though. He should be here with them. But he did have a different destiny... as the clans medicine cat.

Leopardfang looked at the litter, amused. He was reminded of his own kits, and the three of them during their apprentice ceremonies. His nostalgic smile quickly faded and he turned his attention back to the present. "Duskkit, Echokit, step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to begin your training. From this day forward, you will be known as Duskpaw and Echopaw. Duskpaw, Blazeflight will be your mentor. I trust she will teach you loyalty and honor. Echopaw, Swiftclaw will be your mentor. I hope you will learn patience and trust from him." He said and finished the ceremony.

Blazeflight smiled, she had made it just in time for another apprentice ceremony. But her thoughts turned when she heard her own name, she would be Duskpaw's mentor. She had another apprentice! She ran up to touch noses with him, her heart thumping fast."I hope I can t-train you well i-in the ways o-of the warriors.

(Hmm we have not officially completed this ceremony!)

 Duskpaw gently touched noses with his new mentor. Hmm? Blazeflight. She's cool! I can't wait to start training! Oh but poor Roaringkit..... Thinking for a split second he ran over to his sister and exclaimed, "We're apprentices! Finally! But now I'm sad. We won't be sharing a den with Roaringkit anymore...." Sighing he walked back over to Blazeflight. "Blazeflight. When can we start training? I hope soon! I would love to see outside of camp agai.....I mean for the first time!" Oh no! I almost just blew this for every-kit! Quickly Duskpaw stammered over his words trying to cover up his mistake. "Did I say again? I meant for the first time! Why would I say again? Kits don't leave camp! Hahaha...." Even through his stammering, Blazeflight didn't even seem to hear him though he was right next to her. Phew! I thought I might of just ruined the future kits lives just then! I am just glad the kit's secret is still safe!
