Icekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Icekit bound out of the nursery to look up at Ashstar, eyes wide open. He looked very pleased with himself, excited to join his elder siblings in becoming an apprentice.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. Her grandkit. The eagerness in his eyes warmed her heart and gave her hope for WindClan. "Icekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Icepaw. Your mentor will be Quailfeather. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you."

Quailfeather blinked as her name was called as her younger brother's mentor. Life had been hard for her since Kindleblaze's exiling, and she appreciated the distraction. It gave her a little more respect for Ashstar. She touched her nose to Icepaw's and smiled, her frosty blue eyes looking into his. "I can't wait to train with you, Icepaw," she purred.
