Little Gust's in the Hollow

Gustpuddle knew what was coming. Her whiskers began to tremble as her muscles grew tight, and her stomach began to ripple. Just as the other queens had told her, she called for the medicine cat and her mate."Beetlepaw! Hollowfang!" She sat down in the far corner of the nursery, waiting for those she called.

Beetlepaw raced to the nursery when he heard the loud call of Gustpuddle. The queen was expecting kits for a while, and the medicine cat had a feeling that she was going to give birth soon. He didn't bring any herbs, but instead ushered the she-cat to bite hard on a stick and supported her head on a clump if wet moss. "Push Gustpuddle."

"Will Hollowfang get here in time?!" She wanted so bad for her mate to be there, emphasis pouring from her maw as she spoke through the stick. Sadly, though, she could tell the first kit would arrive before he would. She didn't want to try to wait, so she did as Beetlepaw said, pushing the first kit into the world. She smiled down at the first kit, picking it up by the scruff and bringing it to her body to suckle.

OOC: Stonekit was born,but we will wait until Hollowfang is present to do the naming :D

A large gray kit mewled in protest as his mother picked him up, the ground disappearing underneath him. Then he was placed back down, closer to the scent of milk. With the world blind to him, the kit shuffled closer to his mother.

(Since Hollowfang may be bringing an adopted kit, he will not yet be here... but Hailkit can!)

The little kit was thrust into the world not long after her brother. She mewed loudly and scrunched her face up at all the sounds around her. The little grey she-cat pushed her nose upwards, attempting to get to somewhere that had food. She was starving, and now they had to come and take away her warmth and comfort, bringing her somewhere cold and scary. She couldn't yet see or hear, but she could feel. And she was hungry.

After suckling enough milk, the gray kit curled up against his mother's side. His instincts told him to stay as close as possible to prevent getting lost. Then he felt a new flank press against his side, slightly smaller than him. Feeling warm, the large kit purred.

A small, pale kit rustled around in the moss nest for a short moment as the first few breaths of air filled her lungs. The air felt cold and unpleasant, though the kit had nothing to compare it to. Still, she instinctively sought to move closer to a source of warmth--after a moment of struggle, her nose bumped into something soft and warm; Gustpuddle's belly. It smelled pleasant, and she began suckling right away, warm beside her littermates.

The small grey kit slithered out of her mothers womb, letting out tiny wails as she took in her first few breaths. She instinctively crawled over to her mothers belly and nursed beside her siblings. The afterbirth still clung to her as she was feeding, but she didn't seem to notice.

Another small grey she-kit exited her mother, although she was quiet, taking in short breaths of exhaustion. She rolled into her mother's warmth, burrying her face deep in her mother's flank. She nursed quietly as well, the large white spot on her flank rising and falling as she inhaled for the first time.
