The bat in the nursery (Closed and finished)

The kit licked his paw with an indifferent look in his green eyes. The moss under his body was kind of cold and he disliked that, but there was nothing to do with that since his parents were gone a long time ago and nobody cared about it. Batkit didn't remember their faces, but he didn't think too much about them. The only thing that was sure to him was that he had to grow up to gain the things he desires with his own strength. Nothing else matter.
The dark tom stretched his four paws and yawned, bored. He looked the nursery, thinking about how dark and cold it was. He hated this place and wanted to run far away from it. Maybe outside there was something that he could enjoy... or someone that could be his friend....
A sudden movement caught his attention and Batkit flicked his ears when he turned around to see what was that.

The black she-kit jumped to catch an imaginary prey and fell in her four paws with grace. Even with her tiny body, the kit was very fast and lithe. She loved to think that she was already a warrior hunting in the outsides of the camp, but she wanted to play with someone new.
With curious amber eyes, Tinykit looked the other cats in the nursery and she glanced a dark pelt in one of the corners of the big den. The black kit had never seen that cat before and felt intrigued about his height and the color of his pelt.
Tinykit got closer to him, flicking his tail nervous and when his green eyes looked her, she stopped, embarrassed and intimidated. He was so tall, she thought, a little scared, but quite excited.
"H-Hi. My name is Tinykit. I-I-I saw you before, bu-but I think we never spoke to each other."

Batkit blinked amused to see a kit so little and fragile like her. He stood up, staring how the black she-cat trembled because of his presence. It was obvious that she felt fear because of him, but Tinykit was also brave enough to talk to the tom and that made Batkit felt curious about this kit.
When she introduced herself, the first answer he thought was mean and sarcastic; something like 'Tinykit? What an ORIGINAL name for you'. But he didn't want to scare her off, so he tried to force a friendly smile and approached her, inclining his head a little to saw her better.
"I'm Batkit. It's good to meet you, Tiny." He purred with a soft voice. It was the first cat that actually talked to him and Batkit wanted to make a good first impression. Maybe Tinykit could be a good friend.

In the moment that Batkit introduced himself, Tinykit felt more comfortable being by his side. She stopped her trembling and smiled more confident of herself. The black she-kit flicked her ears, inquisitive to hear more about him.
She soon noticed that his nest was too small for a queen and her litter, making the little kit wondered if he had a family or he just rested alone. Also, Tinykit worried when she saw that his poor nest didn't even have sticks, just moss. Why didn't he do anything about that?
"Where... is your mother?" She asked staring the green eyes of Batkit.

The slender body of Batkit tensed in the moment that Tinykit talked. He felt the anger rise in his inside and little claws appeared in his dark paws, scratching the wet dirt under him. He turned his face away, without looking the she-kit in front of him.
"Gone. Both of them are dead to me." He growled in a furious tone. But he wasn't angry with Tinykit. Only with his parents that abandoned him in the camp without a family to love.
He turned his back to her and padded back to his nest, frustrated to have shown his most vulnerable side to the little cat. Tha dark kit laid down in his cold nest, without looking the she-kit.
"You know... you don't have to be with me. I'm a mess, so... I don't blame you if you go now. Sorry for scaring you, if I did."

Tinykit stepped back when Batkit growled with anger, surprised because of the change of the tall kit. But... she didn't fear him. Even when he walked away and laid down in his nest, the only thing that the black kit could think it was that he felt bad for him and wanted to save him from his anger and loneliness. She couldn't stand seeing a cat suffering in front of her amber eyes without doing anything.
Tinykit didn't hesitate when she approached Batkit, picking up before one of the feathers that fell from the roof of the den. With his mouth, the black she-kit carried the soft white feather and laid down right beside Batkit. She left the feather in the moss and glanced at the eyes of the tom, with a warm smile.
"I'm sorry for asking that" She meowed in a whisper of regret. "And... I don't think you're a mess. I think you're pretty great and I'm sure you will be an awesome warrior in the future! You're just lonely and damaged, but... I want to help you if you let me be your friend." Her paw touched him while Tinykit purred this words, smiling.

The anger that consumed Batkit slipped away with the touch of Tinykit by his side. He looked the feather that decorated his nest and smiled with honesty. For the first time in forever, the tall tom felt that he wasn't all alone in this world.
With a move of his tail, he embraced the little body of her new friend and glanced at her, nodding peacefully.
"Thank you, Tiny. You're really a good friend and I'm sure that you will as awesome as me in the future." The dark meowed this words with kindness and felt warm in his own heart.
Now that he got a real friend, he promised in his mind that he would never let anyone to hurt her.
