The Venom will always Fall [Open for Rowanoak's Vow]

Venompaw stumbled in, feeling unbalanced, dizzy and strangely vulnerable. She'd had to limp back from Fourtrees, bleeding from various places all over her body.

As she came in the entrance to camp, the dark apprentice dared to look back at the stump where the end of her tail used to be. Rage filled her, but as she took another step the pain pushed it down again. She was lightheaded, couldn't think straight, everything seemed too dark and too bright at the same time. She had known she wasn't ready, she shouldn't have thrown herself in there. Still, she'd lost a lot of blood but she told herself that she didn't need help, she'd be fine.

The black she-cat did her best to attract little to no attention as she stumbled across camp, hoping to just reach the apprentice den and sleep it off

All in all, it was a pretty good day, the tabby concluded, gold eyes glittering with pride as she watched the clan elders munching away on the rabbit- nevermind it being a little thin -that had been dumb enough to wander from WindClan's moors into her marsh. She'd brought back two birds as well. She'd earned herself this pride, she thought. Some of the other warriors even forgot they didn't like her for a moment and praised her for her hunting skills! She purred quietly to herself, savoring this feeling. It was the first time she'd ever truly felt she belonged in her Clan.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sharp, metallic scent of blood. Her head spun around and her fur bristled as the sight of Venompaw stumbling into camp, fur soaked in blood. It made Fallenpaw think back to when she'd seen Shimmerheart's death; the scent of blood had lingered in the air then, too. She shook her head and immediately bounded over, worry overtaking her usual caution when interacting with her clan mates. "Venompaw!" She gasped, ducking to push her shoulder under the black cat's. The younger apprentice had gone through a growth spurt lately, and she was getting much taller than she'd been as a kit, even if she hadn't filled out quite yet.
"What happened? Nevermind that, we need to get you to the medicine den," she said quickly, determined to help her denmate.

Venompaw, who never had been a fan of any assistance from anyone, hissed and shoved the cat away. The anger was boiling up inside her again, this time she wasn't backing down just because of a little pain in her tail. Only as she spun to face her helper did she see who it was. Fallenpaw. She unsheathed her claws furiously and stepped towards the tabby. She knew who she was, she'd heard about the little rogue kit who'd been brought into camp. And once again, it disgusted her that rogues thought they could just join Shadowclan and still be like one of them. They couldn't.

"Don't touch me you disgusting piece of rogue scum!" Her rage had built up to a boiling point and overflowed, coming out of her mouth and off her tongue in the form of cruel words and harsh tones. "You can't help, it's your fault that this happened! Other cats are still back there fighting, all because of you! You did this to Shadowclan, all of you rogues and half-clanners! You've polluted our clan, tainted it. You're poison, all of you. Unworthy dirt that doesn't even deserve to be here. Starclan are punishing us, Thrushstar should never have taken you in as a kit, never." she took a step towards the apprentice and stared her down, eyes glimmering with unfiltered hatred and anger. Then, in less than a second her paw came up and once again that day she felt the tear of flesh and blood welling up between her claws "You did this to us, so don't you dare for one second try to help"

Fallenpaw blinked when she was shoved away, but she shrugged it off. She should have known Venompaw would be stubborn about accepting help; the she-cat was always snapping about something. Fallenpaw had just sighed and taken a step forward when Venompaw mirrored her move.
And Fallenpaw's world crashed down around her.
Her golden eyes snapped open wide, mouth slightly open as she stared at Venompaw, fur rising just a little more with every word the black cat spoke.
But you already knew that, didn't you? A voice sneered in her head. You're not a clan cat at all; you're just an inconvenience, a curse, a burden on your precious clan. That's why they all hate you.
At this point, Fallenpaw was watching Venompaw's mouth move and her own mind was supplying the words, words she'd refused to ever even think in fear they might be right. And now, turns out, they were.
She didn't see it when Venompaw raised a bloody foreleg, didn't see it when that paw rushed down. She felt the searing pain at her temple, ripping down across her eyes, nose, mouth. She barely flinched away, turning her head into the claws as if in a dream. A stray claw caught the base of her ear and ripped it clean open all the way to the tip, and still she barely moved. Even when her golden gaze slowly turned red, she just stared in shock at Venompaw. Then something stirred in her eyes. A boiling, writhing, rage-filled blood lust shone in her eyes, the blood slowly filling them only making them all the more terrifying as she stared at the black apprentice. A small, seeming delicate paw lifted and deadly claws as sharp as black thorns unsheathed, and the blood lust in her eyes turned to murder. Her paw flashed forward, quicker than a blink, too fast for anyone to stop.
I want to kill you.
And her claws passed through black fur harmlessly. It hadn't been because she'd missed; it had been a clear warning and a promise rolled into one. She could have killed this cat in less than a second, and no one would have been able to do anything but watch her drown in her own blood.
The revelation that she could have killed her denmate and not even cared terrified her, and the anger suddenly turned to horror, and a deep, broken sorrow. The tabby turned and streaked out of the camp, scarlet drops glittering behind her as she ran.

Kind of an insight to Fallen's change in emotion. Not sure what that is yet; might just be she's easily triggered, or maybe just buried memories from the hours before she was given to ShadowClan coming to the surface and making her act out. If allowed, maybe even her dead father- maybe killed by a clan cat? -trying to stir trouble. I'd have to ask if that's even allowed though, because I have no idea. Maybe Fallen's just bipolar, idefk//

Venompaw had watched as blood trickled down into the smaller cat's eyes, her gaze glistening and far away. Somehow she watched as Fallenpaw's world crashed down around her, falling faster than a river over rocks, and hit the floor. She didn't care. But when that younger cat made that promise, she felt her claws tug on her thin fur, Venompaw's resolve hardened to steel. She'd show her the truth of being pure Shadowclan, she'd show her the rage and power a true clan cat could hold.

Still, the sudden violence and blood-lust she caught in the other's expression made her blood run cold. She had no heart. That cat wasn't right, her blood had done that to her, the rogue blood running in her veins. She was violent, uncaring, worse than Venompaw herself, and it only solidified the dark she-cat's beliefs. She studied her paw, claws slowly retracting, and examined the blood in between them. Rogue blood, disgusting. Wiping it nonchalantly on the hard ground beneath her paws, she trotted on as though nothing had happened. Fallenpaw's world had just crashed down around her and all she did was yowl at the top of her lungs
"And don't ever come back you bloodthirsty maniac!"


The other had looked so pained, and it sent a rush of satisfaction through Venompaw, once again, true to her name. She took a deep breath as she disappeared into the apprentice den, settling down and smiling to herself despite the blood slowly covering her nest. She'd given her what she deserved
