Cinders in the Blizzard [Closed Patrol]

Blizzardshine chuckled as the newly named apprentice asked to start her training right away, though she was careful enough to wait until the clan was dismissed to get up and look at the camp entrance “Very well then, we will start with the basics then. You need to get used to the clan territory to know what areas you need to defend, the areas you must avoid an where you can hunt” As she spoke, the white deputy started to walk calmly towards the camp’s entrance, smiling widely “So I’ll take you on a patrol across the territory, if you have any questions feel free to ask, and remember to pay attention to everything around you” Blizzardshine was aware this probably would be Cinderpaw’s first time outside the camp, so she wanted to make this experience as special as possible.

Cinderpaw smiled eagerly and gave an eager nod."alright"she mewed flicking her tail in excitement. She looked to the camp entrance. She followed after her mentor"alright I can do that"she mewed.

Blizzardshine walked silently through the forest she knew so well at this point, the snow that not long ago made her and her companions sink and have some trouble moving around turning into a smaller layer that mixed with mud at certain spots, giving it a brownish coloration. Leafbare was close to end and even if she liked the cold season she couldn’t wait for Newleaf to arrive.

Her paws walked the old paths they knew so well, allowing her mind to be focused on other things, like her apprentice “As you can see, the forest is our home, and we must defend it. I know it can be confusing at first and getting lost can be fairly easy, but once you get used to it you’ll find your paws carrying you wherever you need to go without hesitation” She flicked her tail as she walked past a small area where even during the harsh winter, the forest undergrowth managed to survive and the trees were fairly close one to another, giving more than enough places to hide or find shelter if needed “This is a really good place to hunt, with enough places for prey to hide or make their homes in, and also close enough to camp. I’ll probably bring you here when we start to train your hunting skills”.

Cinderpaw followed eagerly her gaze looking left and right trying to remain as calm as she could manage. Smiling some she nodded"alright"she mewed "I can't wait"she said before she came padding up beside her mentor.

Blizzardshine smiled before looking at the sky once more. She was a bit paranoid about the time, as she had never done a territory tour so late during the day before and feared not being able to teach her apprentice all the places of it. Taking a deep breath she decided to go against her usual method and push her favorite paces to the side, wanting to take her to the most important places first so she wouldn’t get in trouble in the future “I’m going to take you to a couple places you must remember, and if possible avoid at all costs. Our territory can be beautiful and you’ll grow to love it, but it can also dangerous and even deadly if you don’t know where you’re going”.

As she spoke, her paws carried her towards one of the few places forbidden for cats as young as Cinderpaw, and even if she was around to protect her she still felt fairly nervous “Stay close to me now” Her voice, though as gentle as always, held a noticeable imperative tone in it produced by her worries. When the large cracked stone log met their gaze she had to take a deep breath, stopping at a good distance from it.

“This is the Stony Hollow. Usually apprentices are forbidden from even approaching this place, but I had to bring you here even if just once” Her eyes met the darkness of the apparently never-ending cave that was inside it “This place has claimed many lives in the past, from curious kits to brave fully trained warriors. Even Darkstar and I tend to avoid this place as much as possible” She looked down at her apprentice to make sure she was listening “And unless you have a death wish, you really should do the same”.

The gray and finger she cat followed quietly looking around but blinked as he menot instructed her to stay close. She nodded slowly and quickened her pace catching up and staying near her mentor. As the stony hollow come into he is She blinked. At her debtor's warning she nodded"got it stay away from here I can do that"she mewed. It wouldn't be a problem the darkness of the cave spooked the she cat a bit and knew that she wouldn't ever dream of approaching it.

Blizzardshine nodded with a smile, immediately turning around and leaving the forbidden area behind, feeling quite more relaxed now that she knew that her apprentice’s chances to die in that dangerous place were really low. Her next step being the Snakerocks.

As soon as the two arrived to sun bathed area full of rocks she started to slow down and look at the ground at her paws carefully before each step “Place your paws only where I do” Her voice once again was dead serious. The white deputy was careful to only give small steps so Cinderpaw wouldn’t have trouble to follow her command. She stopped at the borders of the area, luckily the still low temperatures scared off most adders, but she didn’t want to tempt her luck “These are the Snakerocks. Many useful herbs can be found here, so medicine cats tend to come here often, and sometimes prey can also be found between these rocks. However, this place is full of venomous adders, which can kill you with a single bite. If you ever come here you must be extremely cautious…but if you want my advice, it would be wise to not come here often” She turned her head lightly to look at her apprentice.

Cinderpaw blinked and nodded slightly nervous about any adders that might slither towards them. She looked at her mentor"alright I'll try to advoid here"she mewed.

Blizzardshine nodded with a smile, glad the apprentice could understand the dangers of this place and be cautious instead of trying to play brave and just get herself killed in an act of stupidity. Slowly and carefully walking back and away from the adder-infested rocks, she decided it could be a good idea to show her the infamous Thunderpath, getting ready for the stench she knew would welcome them when they got near enough.
