Cloudpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock, shaking a chill out of her gray fur. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled.

Cloudpaw padded forward at Ashstar's call, eagerness welling up within him- despite the trainwreck that was his assessment, clearly the report that Mottleheart gave Ashstar was enough for her to deem him worthy of becoming a warrior.

Ashstar smiled at the apprentice. Mottleheart had spoken very highly of his efforts and skills, and anyone who was good enough for Mottleheart was good enough for her. "Cloudpaw, please step forwards." Once the tom did, she continued. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Cloudpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Padding out, Willowwhisker saw one of her kits becoming a warrior. She also realized she was late for the ceremony. Mousedung! She sat outside the nursery entrance, a grin on her face.

Cloudpaw lifted his chin at Ashstar's ceremonial words, his green and blue eyes glinting with an unusual pride, his usual awkwardness and shy nature long forgotten. "I do." He reaffirmed, gazing up at Ashstar.

Ashstar nodded. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Cloudpaw, from this moment you will be known as Cloudrunner. StarClan honors your loyalty and intelligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head.

Cloudrunner placed a quick, respectful lick to Ashstar's shoulder, eyes glowing as he stepped away. He let out a soft purr as his mother approached, and he briefly nuzzled her, relieved that she wasn't fussing too much.
