Marshkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all... cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Marshkit stepped out of the nursery. His gaze locked onto Jaggedrock, examining it carefully to avoid his hopes running too high. His tail twitching gave away his excitement. His eagerness as he knew it was finally time for him to become an apprentice after his sister had already. He glanced towards the gathering cats, hoping to see her, but his gaze turned back to Thrushstar.

"Tonight we gather to make this kit an apprentice," Thrushstar said. "Marshkit, from now until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Marshpaw. Your mentor will be Ravenclaw. May she teach you everything that she knows." with that, he leaped off of the rock.

Ravenclaw watched from the edge of the crowd, fondly remembering her own apprentice ceremony moons and moons ago, when she'd been surprised to hear her name called out among the clearing. Her... her first apprentice! The she-cat beamed, walking over to meet the young one, well she was young herself, but he was younger. Her tail head high as she bent down to touch her noses to his.

"Greetings, Marshpaw." She smiled. "I'm your mentor now. Don't disappoint me."

Marshkit’s pelt prickled in excitement as Thrushstar spoke. He was an apprentice now. He felt a warm delight when his mentor was named. Without missing a beat, he hurried over to greet her, touching her nose with excitement thrumming in his paws.

“I won’t. I’ll be the best apprentice you’ll ever have.” He declared boldly, his amber eyes bright with anticipation. His first official step onto the path of a warrior had been taken.
