Wind and Rivers cross [Open Border Patrol]

Greypaw, now Greygaze, groomed her fur neatly. It was the day after her warrior ceremony, and she wanted to have a good start today. She had slept to noon after the vigil yesterday but was still tired. The warrior's den seem huge compared to the apprentice's den! First things first, she would check out the WindClan border. Tensions were still high between the two clans, and she wanted to make sure if the WindClan cats dare trespass on their territory. With a sigh, she licked her nose and stood up. Better safe than sorry! The tabby warrior went into the center of the clearing and paced around, looking for other cats that want to join her on this border patrol.

With a yawn, Acornpaw sleepily trailed out of the apprentice den, purring in greeting at her clanmate, Greygaze. They were relatives, Greygaze being her father's sister, but she couldn't say she felt particularly closer to her aunt beyond clan connections. Perhaps this was a good opportunity to get to know the older she-cat.

"Mornin'"

Sootwhisper padded silently towards Greygaze, his half-sister, and Acornpaw, his kit, nodding respectfully towards them as a greeting “Patrol?” Just like always, his deep voice was more of a soft whisper than anything else. He wasn’t a fan of the cold, but even he knew that borders needed to be patrolled and marked constantly during this weather. Plus, if he had to pick between the cats of the clan he would always pick his family to spend his time with, as the aloof tom always felt somewhat more comfortable around them.

Tawnystorm padded up to the forming group - all family, but she wasn't too close to any of them. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to get to know them better. "Good morning! Mind if I come along here?" she asked, perkier than usual. It was early morning, after all, and her favourite time of the day. Even in Leafbare, the air was crisp and the sun was only beginning to peek out from beyond the treetops.

"May I join?" Buzzardpaw said. He just woke up and wanted to walk around as a crowd began to gather.

The tabby warrior nodded at Acornpaw when she greeted her and yawned. Sootwhisper, Tawnystorm, Buzzardpaw came along and she replied each with a "yes". Greygaze rose to her paws and glanced around the camp, checking to see if anybody else wanted to join. "I guess we better get going, anybody else will have to catch up with us" And then lead the way out of camp, towards the WindClan border.

Sootwhisper nodded respectfully before standing up to carry on with the patrol, following Greygaze out of the camp and towards the border they shared with the moor cats, hoping that this time it would have a less aggressive ending.

The patrol was soon near the WindClan border. Greygaze checked around the territory and then set a new marker while glancing frequently at the direction of WindClan's Camp. I wonder how Smokepelt's doing, after Fishstar broke his jaws. Just a moon ago, a battle between RiverClan and WindClan had happened in WindClan camp. She had fought with Smokepelt, the deputy of WindClan. Their Clan was soon defeated, and Ashstar had lost a life.

Sootwhisper started to mark the border, feeling the fur on his neck stand on end as the smells of the moor reached his nose. Even after a whole moon the memories of the battle were still fresh on his mind and it caused him to look constantly over the borders, nose and ears working hard to try and catch any sound o an approaching WindClan patrol just in case. It wasn’t usual for him to be so tense, but with the recent events it could be understandable.
