Smokepaw's Assessment [[Closed]]

Smokepaw stalked forward slowly, having caught the taste of another lizard. Ready to end his assessment, his eyes narrowed as he saw it scurrying though the snow. His tail twitched as he moved slowly through the snow, keeping pace with the lizard as he attempted to circle around it to end up downwind. Finally, he was in position. His eyes gleamed as he moved forward, leaving little trace of himself on the snow as he stepped as lightly as he could manage. Once in range, he was ready to catch this final piece of prey. He leaped forward and ended its life quickly with a blow, watching with a smile as it fell limping into the snow. He had done it - he had completed his assessment. He dipped his head, whispering a small prayer to StarClan for the three pieces of prey he had caught to feed his Clan with before he glanced around, his tail held high as he tried to spot Littlebrook from where she was no doubt watching him.

Littlebrook watched as Smokepaw caught his last piece of prey, a lizard, and her eyes shone proudly as she stepped out of the brush and into her apprentices line of sight. "Great job, Smokepaw. Even though there were a couple complications, you recovered well and proved to me you're skilled and determined." She meowed easily. "Lets head back to camp." She told him, flicking her tail before padding towards camp. She'd talk to Thrushstar about getting his warrior ceremony done when they got back.

Smokepaw watched as Littlebrook stepped from the bushes, purring as she praised him for his catches. The idea that he would soon be a warrior now seemed a whisker-length away - there was little doubt that he would have to wait much longer for his ceremony. Of course, he was also happy that he reflected well on Littlebrook - she had been a wonderful mentor and he was going to miss having her as a mentor but he would keep her training in mind. "Of course, Littlebrook," he said as she spoke of returning to the camp. He bent down and picked up the lizard, hurrying after her with a glimmer in his eyes. Soon he would be a warrior.
