Cold, Cloudy Days (OPEN)

Cloudpaw settled down in the cold, powdery snow, fluffing out his long, white fur in a futile attempt to warm himself up as he gazed out at the snow-bound moor, his breath billowing in brief clouds. Lifting a paw up, he shook some of the remaining drifts from his foot before gently brushing the pads of his feet against his cold nose, hoping to chase away the burning chill that clung to his nose. "Hopefully some other cats join me so I can finally leave camp!" Cloudpaw scowled, hunkering down further in the snow until he nearly vanished as he waited for other cats to join.

Duskstorm the older warrior padded over to the young apprentice. "Hi Cloudpaw. Patrol?" he asked. Duskstorm enjoyed being with the younger members of the clan especially apprentice's because he was hoping that Ashstar would see him as a mentor.

Thistlefall padded over to the two apprentices, noticing his son, Cloudpaw, first, then he let his gaze drift to duskstorm. He gave a nod to his fellow warrior, "we waiting around for a patrol?"

Cloudpaw looked up at Duskstorm as the slightly older tom approached, his odd, different colored eyes remaining neutral as Duskstorm greeted him. "Yes." he responded patiently, before his pale, unblinking gaze drifted towards the powdery drifts that covered the moor completely. Cloudpaw's head turned as his father approached, a touch of warmth filling his gaze at the sight of Thistlefall, and he rose up from his crouching position- he didn't wish to be seen as slacking or brooding in front of the older toms now that he was an apprentice. "Is three cats enough for a border patrol? I want to see the Gorge, but with tensions being so high I don't know if three cats will be enough in case we encounter Riverclan." He questioned, looking at Thistlefall before switching his gaze to Duskstorm.

"I think three is enough." Duskstorm replied looking at Thistlefall for his opinion. "We should get going before it gets too dark." he pointed out noting that it was nearly sundown. He headed towards the entrance of camp with the others behind him. He decided to let Cloudpaw and his father have a bit of alone time.

Thistlefall nodded, "I agree, and to be honest, I highly doubt the likely hood of an attack at this hour." He added, backing up Duskstorm. He turned and glanced at his son, "we can surely see the gorge, come on then, we should get moving." He said and turned to head out of the camp.

Cloudpaw's tail flicked contentedly as they set off from camp, eyeing the frosty tendrils of heather with his now signature, unblinking gaze. Padding forward, the smaller tom noticed with frustration that both Duskstorm and Thistlefall's bellies remained clear of piled high snowdrifts, while his own soon became wet with the icy snow melt due to his shorter legs. Huffing in annoyance, he bounded forward several paces to clear himself of the snow only to turn back to look at the two toms with wide eyes- everytime he came out camp, the snowfall made every recognizable landmark different.
"Which way now? Everything looks so different with the snow." Cloudpaw questioned, his ears no longer burning from the cold but from the fact that he had slightly lost his bearings.
