The Green Thistle ((CLOSED))

Greenpaw didn't really know her mentor, but she had heard he was a new warrior and her excitement at training had dwindled. She saw the warrior hovering at the entrance, almost sensing that he was as nervous as she was. "Hello." Her tone cool, unfriendly as she waited to see what he had in store for them today.

Greenpaw wasn't very friendly to begin with, but as she was growing older, her tongue was growing sharper. The very small she-cat flicked her ears as he spoke, unwilling to rebel, but finding it hard to resist. "Sure." Nothing in her tone hinting that she'd warm up to her mentor anytime soon. She waited for the older feline to lead her away from the camp, the viewing of the territory the highlight of today.

The unfriendly she-cat didn't care that she was probably getting on Thistlefall's nerves. She followed him silently, observing the territory and keeping track of where they were going. The sound of rushing water made her nervous, she'd never heard that noise before. "What is that noise?" Greenpaw asked her mentor, her nervousness seeping into her voice.

Greenpaw listened as he explained what the noise was, she stopped where she was at the threat of joining Starclan early. Her ears flattening against her head, why would he take her here in the first place if it was so dangerous. The small black she-cat didn't realize it was important she knew where such a dangerous place was. He motioned her closer, and she swallowed her fear and did as he said.

Her paws felt numb at the sight of the gaping gorge, rushing water, foamy white. He mentioned Riverclan and she growled involuntarily. "Of course I know Riverclan. Those foxhearts attacked our camp." Her tone was harsh, to mask the fear she had felt and the fear of reliving it. Greenpaw had wished to be in the fight more than anything, until it actually started and she realized she was out of her depth.

Greenpaw stared down at the rushing gorge for a long moment, before doing as Thistlefall said. She followed him while he led the way, her mind off track thinking about the battle. Until she tripped up on a clump of heather and forced herself to focus on the tom and this training session. "My mother always said my legs are too short to hunt rabbits." She said, almost conversationally to her mentor. Though she was only advising him of her shortcomings, which her mother had always made her aware of.

Greenpaw frowned at his words, she didn't like him insinuating that her mother was wrong. But she decided to let it go, for now. His request earned a small nod, as she wrinkled her nose and scented the air. She could smell heather and cold wind, and there, a scent she recognized from the fresh kill pile. "I smell vole." She said, lowering her voice, and keeping an eye out for any prey.

Greenpaw paused at his request, inhaling deeply until she pinpointed which direction to head. Her pointy ears flicking to try and catch any noise of the vole. Her pale eyes landing on a thicket of gorse wiggling unnaturally, not from the wind. The small black she-cat pointed at it with her paw, but didn't wait for further instruction. She was going to catch this vole! Her crouch was all off, but she kept going with it, and leaped too soon, startling and scaring off the vole. "Foxdung!" Greenpaw cursed as the vole escaped her expert hunting technique.
