A Wolf Leaves Her Pack (OPEN)

Wolfkit cowered on the edge of the Thunderpath. She gave her homeland one last glare before she set her eyes on the territory beyond the foul smelling path. She tested the stone with a paw. What did she have to lose? No one back in ShadowClan loved her, but maybe there would be someone for her in ThunderClan. The rush of a monster cut her thoughts and she readied herself, heart beating in terror. 

Then the kit sprang away and the stone, over the Thunderpath. It was not long until a monster inched by her and made her jump with fear backwards. Not daring to stop, she scrambled to continue her run, and she managed to make it to the other side. But a feeling i  her stomach told her to stay away from the territory she had yearned to enter. Why?

Oh, but the person in ThunderClan she saw was almost entirely different.

Blacktwig sat upon the curb nearby, thinking of how long it had been since he had last seen Pepper. He felt bad - his heart groaned at the thought of it. And, in a dream, too! The small kit on the other side didn't know of all of that, but it seemed she knew something else. Loneliness. Blacktwig looked up, and his eyes widened. He braced himself for a monster to tear down the Thunderpath and kill Wolfkit before he could get her away.

Kit-saver, that's what he was now. First little Squirrelkit of RiverClan, and now this? The dark she-kit was bouncing oddly on the other side. "Hey, hey, get away!" Blacktwig called, not daring to cross. "Monsters!" Was all the tomcat could manage through a lump of fear in his throat. Oh, dear StarClan. This kit didn't know she was on the very verge of death.

Bat had wander the clans again, unable to sit still in the barn. Pepper didn't mind him leaving, she wanted him to live his own life without being dragged down. Now, he had found himself near the very same path Pepper had been crippled on. A kit was on the other side, she ran across clumsily and he watched as Blacktwig yowl in warning to her and was going to turn away. But he didn't, he remained there.

Blacktwig saw Bat, and turned towards him. "Bat," he meowed with disbelief tainting his voice, "is that really you?" Blacktwig then stood up, trying to be alert to the kit and the familiar rogue tom.

Her paws were sore as she reached the other Clan's territory. She looked in wonder at the black and brown tom and the black one in front of her. One smelled strongly of ThunderClan, the second simply stank, and for a few heartbeats, she was afraid they'd chase her off right back at that dark and rude clan she hated so bad.

"P-please, sirs, I don't want to go back there..." she muttered to him, her head low with fear.

Blacktwig looked like a reflection to Bat's own, as the markings he had were the only way to tell them apart. They seemed hidden by a shadow. "What do you hate?" Blacktwig asked Wolfkit gently.

Shocked by how gentle Blacktwig was, Wolfkit was sent into a series of sobs and gulps. "T-them! Those rude cats in ShadowClan!" she screeched anxiously, tumbling over and curling up into a sad ball.

He nodded in confusion, "Why wouldn't it be?" he asked. The tall tom looked down at the kit and then to the side. "I thought clan cats loved the forest.."

Did Blacktwig make a kit cry? Oh no. He looked down at the kit. "Hush... it'll be fine. Are they really that bad...?" Blacktwig had to admit that ShadowClan had a build-up of pride, and was quick to jump into battle when it rolled around, but it couldn't be so cruel to harm just a little kitten. He looked at Bat with a tilt of his head.

Taking a huge breath, as if she was bracing herself for something terrible, she let out the word a inside her brain like a flood crashing into something. "They are fiesty and never want to play and make fun of me and... I don't want to go back there!" she cried out.

Bat thought the kit was overreacting a bit but, he didn't say that. Another monster roared past and he looked at the road. "Let's get away from this place for now, it isn't safe this close. Then, we can sort this whole thing out."

Wolfkit noded quietly and got up to follow the black tom. He seemed nice, and Wolfkit considered him a friend, much like the second tom. The she-kit was restless tk get away from the Thunderpath and from the haunting memory of her clan, but somehow anxious that her new friends would send her back. But even if they would, she wouldn't return. 

(Should I make a second thread at the barn where the three get to know each other better, alongside with Pepper too?)

Bat eyed the dangerous path one last time as once more, a loud roar signaled a monster rushing past. He picked up the jumpy kit by the scruff and looked at Blacktwig. "You can see Pepper if you want unless you're busy of course. Pepper likes company." he said in a muffled mew.

"Yes!" Blacktwig nearly screeched. He missed his grandmother so dearly, and he didn't know for sure if he'd ever get back to her. But now, fortunately, he was.

You might have to just say that Blacktwig got caught up in a patrol on the way, it already kinda started. Sorry about that.
