Lighting's last strike [Continued] {DEATH TOPIC IN CAMP}

Lightningpaw huffed puffed into camp his breathing labored. "B-Bla-Blaze-Blazepaw.. h-h-help m-me.." The gray tom collapsed and didn't move again.

Blazepaw raced over just in time for his brothers last words. I love you Blazepaw.. He heard his brother whisper before duing. "Lightningpaw no!!!!! No no no!! Wake up Lightningpaw this isn't funny!!!" The darker gray and white tom meowed dark yellow eyes threatening to spill tears.

Grasskit heard the commotion from inside the nursery and went to go check things out. She brightened up at the sight of her friend, Blazepaw and started to bound over to him. She stopped dead in her tracks as her eyes rested on the unmoving pile of fur at his feet. The kit had never seen death before, nor had she ever really thought of it. Her paws scuffed the ground anxiously. She wanted to go over and comfort her friend, but had no idea how, or what to her. Her eyes glanced nervously around the camp and she desperately hoped an older cat would notice what had happened.

Sleekkit watched from a corner with interest. "When I become a apprentice I won't be that weak. He murmured under his breath too quiet for anybody to hear him. He had seen enough of weaklings and has evil thoughts in his mind. He got up and padded away to the nursery with his tail held high. "Soon I'll be Sleekstar..." He whispered.

Driftkit followed behind Grasskit,her tail waved sadly.The she-cat nearly crashed into Grasskit as she stopped suddenly.Driftkit gasped at what she saw.This was not happening,no way."Lightningpaw?...Lightningpaw!"Driftkit meowed"Come on,get up...Please,"Driftkit looked over at Blazepaw who had tears welling in his eyes.Lightningpaw couldn't be dead,he was so fast and strong.Toms like him just don't drop down dead do they?

Blazepaw bowed his head. " He's gone.." The tom meowed sadly.

Driftkit dropped her head."No...I don't want him to go,"she mewed desperately.Driftkit hadn't seen death and it already seemed to hurt her.The She-cat would see much more but she didn't know that.

Grasskit padded more slowly to Blazepaw's side and pressed herself comfortingly into his fur. For once in her life, she held her tongue and said nothing.

Blazepaw pressed into Grasskit. The she cat was almost as big as him but the tom was still a lot bigger being a tom.

Silentpaw padded over and bowed his head. He should have been there! He should have been the one to save him!! The silver tom sat down in vigil next to the younger cats. He was the oldest apprentice in the clan and should have been a warrior by now.

Rainwhisper, Plumblossom, Shadowglow, Coldbreeze, and Badgerstrike padded over and they all gasped except for Shadowglow who was most always silent. They sat down and bowed their heads.

"I'm sorry," Grasskit mumbled softly and touched her nose to his cheek. While the she-cat was young and typically over-cheery, she knew now was not the time and seeing her friend in pain touched her also.

Blazepaw uttered no words but thank you and muzzled Grasskit.
