Blazingleap's death

Sheepnose's white pelt stood out against the green and brown of the nursery walls as she padded outside, only to see cats gathered around the familiar ginger figure of Blazingleap. The fluffy she-cat let out a small yet audible sigh, and looked down at Emberkit. Even though it wasn't her own kit, it was still her family. She wrapped her tail around Emberkit, looking down at the little she-kit with soft blue eyes, but not exchanging any words.
So many cats are dying... She thought, sadly, and looking away from Emberkit and towards the ground.

Stormstrike had seen Blacktwig lash out at Emberkit from where he had been sitting by the warriors' den, and he slowly approached the group with eyes that had no light in them. He paused beside his tortoiseshell cousin, looking over at him.
"Blacktwig," He began, "There's really no reason to lash out at a kit like that...even if the moment does seem upsetting."
The blue-gray tom kept his voice down so that he didn't disrupt the mourning, but after he looked away from Blacktwig, he looked over at Coldbreeze sadly and pressed against his snowy white sister. Stormstrike did also notice that Morningshine had been deeply saddened by the death of Blazingleap, but apparently they had been mates while he had been gone.

Sedgekit darted out of the nursery after her mother, her eyes wide with kit-like curiosity as she looked around.
"Mommy? What's going on?" She chirped, bouncing lightly on her paws to try and get a better look. Without an answer, she raced forwards, trying not to stumble over her brown and white paws, and she stopped right beside Morningshine, who was right beside the dead figure of Blazingleap.
"Morningshine? Why is he sleeping? And why is everyone watching him sleep?" Sedgekit asked, blinking, and tilting her head.

Blacktwig nodded at Stormstrike's words, but his orbs were still cold with the reminiscence of Blazingleap's death. For a moment the breeze stifled those thoughts, daisies fluttering in the wind like the wings of delicious, juicy birds flying above him. He then snapped back to reality, hoping those moments could be true. For now, anger and sorrow flared up inside of him, and his face was stiff with emotion as the breeze grew stronger, crisp and cold. It didn't matter how it nipped at his flesh adorned with black speckled fur, he would stay here. He would sit vigil for Blazingleap. Whatever he could do to honour his dead uncle.
