Smokepelt padded along the WindClan border on a solo patrol. With his father's death and his mother in a somewhat depressed state, the deputy needed some time alone. Stopping to mark the borders a few times along the way, he soon made it to the Thunderpath, the stench overwhelming and making his nose start to sting. Standing completely still as a monster roared by, memories of his crippled father came to mind. This was the place where he'd been crippled and the reason that he'd passed so early. Shaking away the horrible thoughts, he padded forward until he heard a rustle in a bush. Turning around, he kept his eyes peeled and ears alert. "Hello? Who's there?"

Shadekit let out a soft mew as she appeared from the bushes. She was shy and was unaware of her surroundings. She neared the unknown dark path and stopped on the very edge of the moor to the start of the black line of hard ground. Not knowing what it was, she started to make her way on it. Then she heard another cat's voice. She turned around and let out another mew, not knowing what to stay. She stopped in her tracks still standing on the path making slight contact with the cat

Fallenkit had been laying in the bush Shadekit had appeared from, watching. She was waiting to see if the unknown place was OK and they could roam happily. Though her thoughts were abruptly stopped as a voice could be heard from a nearby location. She turned her head interested though scared, it seemed to have caught the attention of Shadekit too. Fallenkit slowly and carefully lifted her body, and ducked under some branches on the other side of the bush to get a better look at the anonymous cat. The cat was grey and white, an unknown cat to her. Obviously interested in a new cat she poked her head out of the bush, in an attempt to fit through two twigs that were close together. But, alas, her attempt had failed and she squished herself eventually getting pushed out of the bush. Little pieces of her fur were clinging to the branches, but she didn't let it get to her. Her blue-ish amber eyes looked up at the cat, semi-horrified from the fact that she was now out in the open and vulnerable. She let out a desperate mew in an attempt that she would have some help, but there was no one that would help her. She lowered her chubby body once more to the cold dewy ground, her fluffy fur brushing against the grass. Her ears lowered and she attempted to hiss but it was kind of just a mew.

Thistlekit was surprisingly on the other side of the thunderpath, with no idea what was really going on. His dark eyes darted around, a yucky smell filling his nose. The little kit mewled in protest, yet that wouldn't do a thing. A monster roared by, ruffling his pelt and coating him in it's foul clouds of toxins. Thistlekit coughed and shook out his pelt in response.

He was rather close to the edge of the path, so close that it felt as if the rumbling beasts were inside of him and thundering around in his chest. The feeling gave the tom unease, oh how he longed for his mother, but she had lost her life to another rogue. He didn't remember much else, other than being told to run, and that he did, which is how he found himself where he was now, at the edge of danger.

Smokepelt was surprised when a kit emerged from the bush and then another followed. Were they related? They didn't smell like clan cats, but then again the scent of the Thunderpath drowned out most smells. Looking around to make sure no other cats were around that might be the parents of the little bundles of fur, he looked back to the two and let out a purr. "Hello there, are you lost?" he meowed softly, not wanting to scare them. Before either of them could reply, Smokepelt's head snapped around at the sound of a pitiful meow. Across the Thunderpath stood yet another kit, and Smokepelt panicked.

To his left, the beaming lights of a monster got closer and closer, and apparently the kit didn't know that they were dangerous. Letting out an alarmed yowl, he sprinted across the path, pushing the kit away from the path. Just as expected, the monster soon roared by, kicking up pieces of little pebbles. That was too close. Looking to the kit, he let out a sigh of relief. Nothing broken, just shaken a bit. Glancing around, he wondered why there were so many abandoned kits but shrugged it off. Besides, he had no say in what other cats did with their kin, although it did trouble him a bit that they'd leave these small, helpless cats alone to the dangers of the world. Looking back down to the kit, he wondered what do, since the other kits were all the way across the path. Well, he really only had one option.

Grabbing the kit by its scruff, he darted across the path and placed the kit by the others. "Where are you all from?" he asked, raising a non existent brow and hoping that they were old enough to talk.

ic: Shadekit was still unaware of her surroundings even though the other cat was standing right before her eyes. SHe didn't know where she was or really where she had come from. "I don't know to be honest. I was born in a big enclosed thing that all seemed to be made of tree bark with straw (a barn)." Shadekit said that because thats all she could remember before she was abandoned.

The little kit just coughed, and looked up at the older cat standing before him. He let out a light noise, similar to a peep and closed his eyes. He was still decently young, and on top of that didn't know where he even was. The rumbling of the thunderpath monsters had already had him shaken up as a well.

Thistlekit looked up at the bigger cat again, his question bumbling around in his head. The little kit just shrugged.

Fallenkit mewed again, "I-I don't know" Her voice was really really quiet, she hid behind the other kits, still trembling.

Smokepelt listened to the kits, and for a few moments was lost in thought. The kits didn't have any parents, well, not that he knew of, and they seemed to be lost. He could take them to WindClan... but would Ashstar except rouge kits? Smokepelt shook away the thoughts. What was he thinking, of course she would. His mother was never one to turn down kits.

Looking to the three of them, a soft smile rested on the tom's muzzle. "Are you all related?" he asked out of curiosity. "If you want, I can take to my clan, I bet they'd love to have strong kits like you."

At the sound of being called strong, Thistlekit puffed out his tiny chest, a stiff yet playful expression covering his face. His levels of fear started to drop, a clan sounded nice, especially if the others were welcoming. He perked his ears at the older cats next question, he still stayed silent, but nodded his head in response.

"I-i think so, I have been with them for so long." the fluffy kit stated, her eyes still showing fear. "W-what is a clan?" She said accidently out loud.

"We area ll related. I remember that much." SHadekit started to say. She was hestitant to accept SMokepelt's invite into WindClan but since her siblings seemed to already approve, she decided to trust them and accept too. Too shy to actually answer yes, she only nodded like Thistlekit did in response.

Smokepelt was glad that they were so easy to agree with his idea and was ready to get away from the Thunderpath. "Let's get going then," he meowed with a smile. "Can you walk there?" he asked, wondering if he'd need to carry any of them. They all seemed pretty well tempered and the same thought that came to him when he found Swiftheart and Sandypaw came to his mind; he'd adopt them as his own. They were all old enough to start weaning off of milk, and besides, the more the merrier in a family, right?

Thistlekit perked up, get out of here? That sounds great. He let out a rather high pitched purr and followed up behind the older cat, practically prancing at his heels. He didn't really know what a clan was, but it sounded much safer than being out here around the huge monsters that occupied the black 'soil'.

Shadekit was warming up a bit to the clan cat and said in a purr "I can walk fine." She was ready to get out of this foul smelling area and go to a place she knew she could be safe.
