Enjoying the cool day, Cedarfur sat in the center of camp, waiting for his apprentice. He'd planned the day out perfectly. They were to do some patrolling, hopefully go on a hunt, and he honestly couldn't wait to spend time with an apprentice. It'd been a while since life was "normal", and with his kits all grown up, he couldn't remember the last time that he'd trained a younger cat to know the ways of the Warrior Code. Fur prickling with excitement, he let out a content sigh, ready for the day ahead of them.

Heatherpaw padded out from the den, spotting Cedarfur, her new mentor. She'd never really been close to Swiftheart - but now it would be a fresh start.
"Hello, Cedarfur," She dipped her head respectfully. "Are we training today?"

By the way Heatherpaw spoke and dipped her head told Cedarfur that she was already a great apprentice, even after the short time she'd spent with Swiftheart. "Yes. Today we'll get some patrolling and hunting practice in. Are you ready?" Standing up, the abnormally tall tom gave his back legs a stretch, and shook his fur.

Heatherpaw nodded. "Yes, though I can't say I know much yet. Maybe we could visit the ShadowClan border?" She shrugged and smiled. She liked Cedarfur already, she had to admit.

Starting to pad out of camp with Heatherpaw next to his side, the tom gave a nod. "Well, don't feel too discouraged, today is all about getting better," he meowed with a smile. "And yes, I think heading towards the ShadowClan border is a great idea."

Heatherpaw nodded. "Let's get going, then."

The two cats padded onward towards ShadowClan territory, until they finally reached it and even though he'd been here many times, the different smell still surprised him. "Here we are, the ShadowClan border. What can you tell me about ShadowClan?" he meowed, wondering what Heatherpaw already knew about the odd cats.

Heatherpaw wrinkled her nose as she thought. She'd heard of ShadowClan, and knew a little about them, but not much. "Well, I know their territory is all muddy and that the Carrionplace is nearby. Also, that their scent is very different, though that's obvious. They're apparently very good at attacking at night - at least, that's what I've heard from Emberpaw." She looked towards Cedarfur, awaiting an answer.

Listening to his apprentice, the tom marked the border and turned back to his apprentice, giving a nod of approval. "Very good, you covered basically everything," he meowed, starting to pad away from the ShadowClan border, not wanting to hang around this place any longer. Those monsters almost killed Icestorm and Lightfoot, I'll never forgive those fox-hearts. The two padded along the border for a little while making sure everything was clear, and so far everything was in its place.

Looking to Heatherpaw, he decided it was time for some hunting. "How 'bout we do some hunting now?" he meowed, changing his direction of walking towards the moor.

"That sounds good. I only know the hunting crouch, though." Heatherpaw padded behind her mentor.

"No worries, that's what training if for," Cedarfur meowed as the two of them padded to the open moor. Finally reaching the spot where he thought it'd be best to hunt, the tall cat sat down. "Now, show me what you know."
