Rabbitkit's MCA Ceremony

It was sunhigh. Oceanlight knew she needed an apprentice. Someone to carry on healing and caring for SkyClan. Someone who she can teach what Acornheather taught her when she was a medicine cat apprentice. She would visit the nursery and talked to the kits, asking what do they want to do when they grow up. They all said 'I want to fight and protect my clan', and stuff like that. Until she met Rabbitkit. She didn't seem interested in fighting. She wanted to be a medicine cat. She found someone who would do just fine.

The medicine cat eyed her herb stocks. She saw a hunting patrol put some prey on the fresh-kill pile. Then a warrior came and took a piece of prey to the nursery. Prey is plentiful now. Must be StarClan showing the cats that they care about the clans. She waited a bit, so that the kit would be fed. She got up and walked out of her den. She looked around for Rabbitkit, and found the kit. She walked over. "Rabbitkit. We're going to Highstones so you can become my apprentice. I got some traveling herbs ready for the both of us. Are you well fed and rested?" she said, two bundles of herbs in front of the two. She looked down at them. She wrinkled her nose as she ate the bitter herbs. She looked up from the ground. "It should be sundown when we get to Highstones." she added.

The she-cat quickly finished her meal and let out a big yawn. Rabbitkit was ready to curl up and take a nap, but she was suddenly jolted awake at the sound of Oceanlight's voice. Looking at the medicine cat, her eyes gleamed with sudden excitement as energy surged through her. "I feel great! I'm so excited!" she squealed, before suddenly settling down and taking a deep breath. "Excuse me... I am ready, Oceanlight. Let's get going." She took a look at the herbs that the medicine cat had put in front of her. They smelled terrible but Rabbitkit built up the courage to eat them quickly. After they were down, the small she-cat was thrown into a short coughing fit, trying to get over the awful taste, but thankfully it went away quickly. With that, she stood up and waited to follow Oceanlight.

Oceanlight smiled and nodded. The two headed out. Whenever Rabbitkit got too tired, she would carry the kit until she could continue walking.

*(spongebob narrator voice) Later...*

The sun was about to set. The two have made it to Highstones. Mothermouth was right in front of the two. "Don't be afraid to stay close to me if your afraid." she said. They went into the cave. The sun went down. The stars came out. The moonstone soon glistened like all of silverpelt was trapped inside of the stone. "Lay down and touch your nose to it. StarClan will come to you." she said.

The journey was difficult. Rabbitkit had expected it to be long but by the time that they got to Mothermouth, her paws were killing her. Getting closer and seeing just how stony the path was down to where they were going, the she-cat groaned, concerned for her poor feet, but with a deep breath, she sucked it up. With a quiet nod, she followed behind Oceanlight curiously, but as they got deeper and deeper into the tunnel, Rabbitkit's heart began to race as she grew nervous. The darkness that surrounded them was blinding and she could feel the rock slide across her sides and back as the tunnel grew smaller. She almost panicked and feared that she was going to get stuck until the tunnel suddenly opened up around them as light shone from the moonstone in the middle. It was an amazing sight to see. Rabbitkit stood there for a moment dazed until Oceanlight spoke to her. Quickly turning her attention back to what she was supposed to be doing, she lied down beside the stone, touching her nose to it.

In an instant, she was dragged into a deep slumber as her body shivered from the cold touch of the stone. It was an experience like she had never had. It was awe inspiring but at the same time, it was nerve wracking. She really didn't know how to feel about the whole thing if she was being honest with herself.

Oceanlight watched as Rabbitkit fell asleep. Her paws ached, she laid down, and just watched the stone They dont usually instantly fall asleep. StarClan must be anxious to meet her. She just waited for her to wake up, with her name.

As soon as she fell asleep, she found herself in a new place she had never seen before. It was already amazing that she had seen Skyclan's territory for the first time, but now she was in Starclan's. With wide, curious eyes, she looked around at the fields that stretched before her and the stars that gleamed brightly in the skies. As she stared, she heard the sound of paw steps behind her. Quickly turning, she gasped in awe as several cats with stars in their fur approached her with a beautiful grace-like appearance. She didn't recognize any of them, but they felt familiar somehow.

"Rabbitkit, you have reached the age of six moons. It is time for you to become apprenticed," one of them spoke. "From now until you receive your Medicine Cat name, you will be known as Rabbitpaw. May Oceanlight teach you everything that she knows."

As soon as the cat in front of her stopped speaking, it took everything the newly named Rabbitpaw not to jump up and down and squeal like a kit. Her tail twitched behind her from exhilaration but she stayed calm. "Thank you," she mewed.

"Be prepared, Rabbitpaw. This life can be a lonely one. Take care of your clan and guide them well. They will look to you for healing and advice. I am confident in you but do not waiver." Rabbitpaw was suddenly confused by the statement but as soon as she opened her mouth to ask something, everything faded into darkness. With a sharp gasp, the new apprentice's eyes flew open to see the Moonstone in front of her and Oceanlight to the side. With a relieved sigh, she stood up. "Okay, I'm ready now," she said.

Oceanlight nodded. She stood up and helped escort Rabbitpaw out. The two walked back to SkyClan camp.
