When Mouse had taken the decission to go look for more kittypets or rogues around the two-leg place, she hadn't imagined it would be so big. Guess she was totally wrong. As soon as she set foot towards the two-leg city, careful to only circle to the two-leg habited zone on it's outskirs, she was soon lost in a maze of dens, only the tree-tops peeking from above the coloured rooves of the two-leg homes to guide her back to the forest. After a short wander in the unknown territory, she decided to return to her home. She went for the forest, a long journey, and she arrived at sun-down where the last gardens connected with the fresh-smelling world of wild cats.
She was back on the ground covered in grass and leaves as soon as she could, but a bit wary, as the sun had stopped casting light over the ground, sinking lower and lower, and the sky started taking a purple-blue colour, inviting the moon to bring night over the lands. She started to trot towards the direction of her home, looking around with her keen, yellowish eyes. A bump in one of the fences and the grotesque sound of a dug made the she-cat jump back, before sinking back towards the fence, now careful not to attract attention.
The small gap peeking from under a fence made her raise the question of whether it was a cat there. It did smell like cats went there often, but the smell was joined by another one, more foul but she ducked and prepared to slide in, the gap seeming big enough for her body. But as her belly brushed the dirt, something clung to her skin, clutching it, smelling strongly of metal and two-legs. Her nose was flooded by the scent of something poisonous, and she sighted red peelets spread on the ground. Rat poison.
From the two-led nest, through a clear surface letting view towards the intertior, a small, white dog started barking, wildly twitching and running around, paw on the glass, at the sight of Mouse, a huge cat dying from a small mouse trap and some rat peelets. Through her blurred vision, she could barely see the two-leg that made their way outside, horrified, and tried to take her from the gap. But Mouse drew away with all of her strenght, and, with tears running down from the smell she couldn't get out of her nose, wetting her fur, she staggered towards the forest, her face twisted in agony from the pain clawing at her belly.
She crashed on the ground under a tree, panting, blood painting the ground bellow her and her white fur as well, making the scent buzzing through her brain worse. She vomited weakly on the grass at her head, feeling her stomach ache with each hoarse breath she took afterwards. Her eyes rolled out and her paws trembled one last time before they stopped. Forever.
By the morning, the blood has dried and her body was resting peacefully, cold and soul-less, on the forest-floor.
