Climb Every Mountain [For Whispers Plot]

The journey beyond Highstones was fraught with anxiety. The tom barely knew where he was going, and it didn't help that not everyone from the original dream was here. Falconstone, Morningpaw, he didn't spite them for coming along, StarClan must have known they'd come and lead them to the party for a reason, but at the same, he had his doubts. Would they even find StarClan if not everyone had seen the dream with the starlit cat. It was a tough question, but for now, Alderheart tried to accept that it could be worse.

At least none of the clan leaders found out about it and tried to stop them.

"Is- Is everyone doing okay?" He asked for what seemed the eight thousandth time, his anxiety expressing itself in his constant nagging. The terrain past Highstones was bone dry rocky land that seemed to extend for miles. He couldn't help be a little worried since they'd walked all through the night, since they were unwilling to sleep without anything to hide or shelter them. They'd need to find water soon, or they'd dehydrate.

Falconstone's tail danced low against the warm rocks. His tri-colored pelt burned from the sun beating down upon them. The land he walked was hard and rocky, the opposite to the land he called hom back in the clan territories. Upon Alderheart's question, Falconstone glanced at Fawnpaw, whom had been the reason why he was there in the first place. "I'm fine." he called again, for the millionith time.

The past few days had been an unexpected journey, and the real adventure hadn't even begun! The group of cats were now on the search for StarClan, and even though he didn't enjoy the strange cats coming along, he would deal with them. Besides, it could always be worse, right? Like more than two of them coming along or something. Padding towards the back on the group, Tinypaw was starting to struggle. Tired and hot, he was already at a disadvantage because of his small legs. He truly tried to keep up with the group so he wasn't a burden, but in the end, his efforts weren't very effective. "Uh, well," he mumbled tiredly, followed by a yawn. His little legs and his long back ached and all he wanted was either water or a short rest break. Sitting down, he looked to the group of cats, feeling utterly useless. How were they supposed to find StarClan if he was holding them back? I'll never become a true warrior, the small white tom gave a sigh.

The ShadowClan apprentice had initially been against the two cats joining them. But after a while, Nightpaw agreed. Not that she thought they deserved to. They hadn't seen the dream, what could they do? But it seemed the others agreed with it, so the apprentice shut her mouth. Her tail lashed continuously, and hadn't stopped since Falconstone arrived at the Highstones. Not that she had much against Morningpaw or Falconstone. She couldn't help but be worried that they would be a hindrance. If StarClan intended for them to be with the group, they would have sent them the dream.

Nightpaw was not doing as well as the others. Her black pelt practically absorbed in the dreaded heat from the sun. Her long fur did little to allow the wind or anything of the like to cool her off. Her pads especially hated the rocky ground they had been treading on. As she had lived in ShadowClan all her life, she was used to the marshy grounds. Not this. Her pads were sore, she was very hot, and wanted nothing more than to find StarClan and get back home. "I will live." The apprentice responded, eyes on the ground in front of her.

Morningpaw glanced up and responded, trying to not sound tired, "I'm okay..."
Sure, she was used to the wooden ground of the barn and the grass from the territory around it, but this was strange to her. The rocks were hot due to the sun, and loose pebbles would roll under her pads. She was totally aware that he appearance, and the appearance of Falconstone, were unexpected by the other cats. She knew that the only reason she was here was because of Thinstripe's death. She wasn't even alive when something happened to Icedpaw.

Morningpaw's focus turned back to the heat and the rocks, and her tail drooped. She longed for water and some sort of food, yet she kept her head held high. Even though her expression showed confidence, her drooping tail said otherwise. Hopefully StarClan is close... She thought.

Stormpaw walked next to Alderheart, her brother "I'm fine." She lied as she slowed down a little for breath

(Sorry! I've been on a trip to Yellowstone for about a week... ;-;)

(Also, I'm just going to assume Fawn cleared up everything with Falcon and he knows what's going on now)

Fawnpaw padded after Falconstone and the others, her breathing heavy. Her mouth was dry and tasted like sand, but despite her struggles, she kept urging herself onward. "I'm... Fine..." she responded in small gasps. The trip had been hard on the small she cat, but she didn't want to burden anyone with her struggles or slow down the group.

Falconstones eyes quickly studied all of the panting cats. He was mostly fine, as his long legs and strong WindClan herritage gave him a stamina the others seemed to lack. However, his mouth did seem a little dry and he was concerned for the others. "Alderheart," Falconstone called up. "Perhaps we should stop and rest in the shade?" His narrow head began to swivel quickly for a good spot.

"Yes, yes, of course. But I don't see any shade around here... Maybe just a little further. Surely we'll come across a hollow soon." The medicine cat could see the exhaustion etched into their faces, the way the cats were panting and struggling was concerning. In particular, he was concerned about Tinypaw. He was so small, if anything went wrong, would he be able to outrun it? At first Alderheart was banking on hiding in bushes, but the deeper they went into this stone mountain, the clearer it was that there was no cover to hide beneath. Used to the swampy marshes of ShadowClan territory, he couldn't help feel uncomfortable standing under the sun like this.

Only to the warrior, the medicine cat leaned over and whispered. "Have you ever seen a place like this before?"

Nightpaw sure hoped they would find a place to pause. Relaxing for a moment sounded amazing. But there was no way she was going to show weakness in front of other clan cats. She had more dignity than that. Screwing up her face with narrowed eyes, she pushed forward. The young cat ignored the burning, aching and tearing of her paws. Yet she did not want to give up. Nightpaw had never lived in a world of StarClan. Yet, they seemed important to her mother. She wasn't about to give up on something that Dawnflower cared so passionately about.

That thought alone kept the black furred apprentice from giving up. Tail low, and ears folded back- the apprentice pushed onward. Her blue eyes watching the tail of Alderheart who walked in front of her. Something to keep her mind on that was not her sore paws and overly hot pelt.
