Sassykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Aurastorm padded into the nursery hoping to find Sassykit and called out quietly. "Sassykit? You there?"

Sassykit poked her head out to face Aurastorm. She smiled and licked her chest. "Yes, I'm here"

"May I have a quick word with you?" he asked, wondering if the kit was aware at all about what he was planning.

"Sure!" Her little stubby legs did a little leap as she came out of the nursey. She followed the warrior to where ever he was going

"Follow me," he murmured as he turned and walked toward the Highrock, leaping on top. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting," he called out.

Darkshadow padded below the highrock beside Sassykit, grinning happily.

Sassykit started to lick her fur. She had guessed that something had to do with her. She started to lick her tail, then her paws. So if she was announced, her tan fur and black tabby marks would gleam in the light.

"We are gathered here today to recognize this kit as an apprentice," he informed before gazing down at Sassykit. "Step forward."

Sassykit's heart was pumping. She strided forward, swishing her fluffy fur. The sun's reflection made her fur a glossy peach color. She had a big smile on her face as she sat down. She looked around the camp, looking at all the warriors and apprentices'.

"From this day, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sassypaw. Darkshadow, you have helped Shiningpaw progress so far in her training and she has almost earned her warrior title. In turn, I ask you to mentor Sassypaw and teach her all you know." Aurastorm called out before gently touching noses with Sassypaw.

Sassypaw felt so new. She then paddled over to Darkshadow, touching noses with the black she cat she had known all her life.

Darkshadow smiled at Aurastorm 'till her gaze rested on Sassypaw. She licked Sassypaw on the shoulder with pride. "You've done well." She meowed, grinning.

Sassypaw smiled and looked at Aurastorm, then at her mentor. "No, you guys done well." She said, with a big smile on her tiny face.
