Horsepaw's Assessment

Breezeheart sat on top of the lone stump waiting on her apprentice to join her. This would be their meeting spot for the day.

Horsepaw padded into the area where her mentor was waiting for her. She looked up at Breezeheart, wondering what was going to happen.

"Today we are doing your assessment. I want you to catch three pieces of pray and come back here when you are done. I will be following you around but you won't see me." The black warrior stated.

ooc: You can do all of the hunting in one post to make this easier on us.

OOC: Okay, I usually do that anyways! In case you dont want to read all of it, she catches 1 lapwing and 2 rabbits!

IC: Horsepaw was immediately filled with terror at the mention of an assessment. A-assessment!? she thought with horror. She cooled herself off quickly though and responded, "O-okay! I come back here when Im f-finished..".

She padded off and quickly scented a bird, identifying it as a lapwing. She crouched instinctively and looked around until she spotted it rummaging among the tall grasses. She stalked forward until she was only a tail length away from it. She waited a moment before pouncing onto her target and killing it with a quick nip to the back of the neck. She wasn't far from the Lone stump where she started, so she picked up her piece of prey and pelted back. When she arrived she buried her piece of prey and pelted off to find some other prey.

Horsepaw pelted off, farther than she did last time until she scented rabbit. She looked around and found a rabbit rummaging around above a rabbit hole. She crouched and stalked forward until she was a few tail lengths behind it. When she was ready she pelted forward and pounced on the rabbit, quickly nipping its neck to kill it. She let go of her prey and scented the air again, noting that there was still fresh rabbit scent.

Horsepaw walked over to the rabbit hole she passed and peered inside quickly. It wasn't very deep and she could see fur in the back of the small tunnel. It must have not finished making its den... she assumed. She padded loudly away and waited a few tail lengths away from the tunnel and waited for it to come out. She saw the rabbit peer its head out of the ground and then finally come completely out of the ground. Upon the rabbit completely emerging above ground, Horsepaw pelted from her spot and pounced onto her target. When she felt fur under her paws and reached her jaws out and nipped the rabbit's neck, killing it quickly.

Horsepaw looked down at her prey before grabbing it and her previous catch between her jaws. She pelted back to the Lone Stump and set them down, as well as digging up her lapwing. She set there with her catch in front of as she waited for her mentor to appear once again. "I hope I did well..." she mewed quietly to herself, her anxieties coming back to her mind.

Breezeheart followed her apprentice as she went on to catch her prey, but quickly went back to the lone stump when she saw Horsepaw had caught her last piece of prey. From what the black warrior saw, she did well enough to pass. When Horsepaw returned to her, Breezeheart spoke. "You passed. Let's go back to camp." The black warrior picked up one of the pieces of prey to return to camp.

Horsepaw let out a sigh of relief when she heard that she had passed. She picked up her other two pieces of prey and walked back to camp as well.
