The Border Skirmish {Closed for Berryheart, Lettuceturtle, and BattlestarGalacticat}

Vixenpaw trudged along the side of the Thunderpath, the acrid scent filling her nostrils. She wrinkled her nose.
Gross! What were the twolegs thinking when they built this Thunderpath? She thought.
She padded slowly into the tunnel underneath the Thunderpath. The smell was still there, but it nearly wasn't as bad. As a monster rumbled up above the Thunderpath, dust came toppling down from the sides and the top of the tunnel, spilling all over Vixenpaw.
I hate this place!
She stepped into a murky puddle of water, and quickly stepped out, squeaking with surprise.
"Yuck..." She said under her breath.

OOC: Yeah. Hop in when your ready, guys!

Robinflight had lost sight of Vixenpaw! One moment she had gone off to catch a mouse and the next moment, the apprentice was gone from view entirely. The russet she-cat dropped her kill and scented the air for the young cat. "Vixenpaw? Where in all the forest did you go?" She hissed as she drew closer to the border. With a nervous sigh, she followed the scent to the Thunderpath, not knowing about the tunnels, she quickly dashed across the border to find her. "Vixenpaw..." She trailed off at the scent of ShadowClan territory, comforted by the familiar scent. She shook her head, 'Apprentice! Not your mate, focus Robinflight!'

Vixenpaw didn't say a word, she just smiled, glad that Robinflight had found her.
How did I separate from the patrol so easily? She thought.
The scent of RiverClan, SkyClan, ShadowClan and WindClan mingled in the air, along with a trace of stale ThunderClan scent. That smell alone was overpowering. Not to mention that there was the scent of the Thunderpath, mud, dirty water, and rodents.
"Did you ever know about this tunnel, Robinflight?" Vixenpaw shyly asked, not raising her voice above a loud whisper.

Softpaw was lost. Hopelessly lost. She knew she was still in WindClan territory only by the faint scent of their border mingling with other Clan scents. She made sure to never cross the border line, but her skin crawled with fright nevertheless. What if she ran into another cat? What if they weren't friendly? Just as she started to worry and bolt in the opposite direction, Softpaw heard voices. She crouched down and froze, keeping her ears perked and nose alert. She sniffed the air, mouth open to inhale more scent. She wasn't very good at picking out different Clan markers yet, but she was almost certain she smelled SkyClan. As their voices became clearer, she hid deeper in the brambles. Her fur puffed out and her claws dug into the earth.

Vixenpaw was curious to explore the territory on the other side of the Thunderpath. As she padded slowly to the other side of the tunnel, the scent of WindClan crashed down on her. She blinked, realizing she had crossed the border.
Oh no! Vixenpaw thought. What if a WindClan patrol came by later and found her scent? Would WindClan do something bad to SkyClan? She could smell WindClan scent close by though. It was fresh, and it seemed like it was beside her. She looked around...there wasn't much foliage on WindClan territory, just moorland, but she could see sand colored fur in a patch of brambles. Vixenpaw let out a yelp, scrambling backwards.
A WindClan cat! She thought with shock.

Softpaw panicked for a moment. What was she supposed to do? Here was a strange cat crossing the border into her Clan's territory, but she had no backup. What if there were more cats with this one? What if she was killed? But it was her duty to defend the borders, wasn't it? She was an apprentice now. She had to act.

Feeling a churning sensation in her gut and terror in her paw pads, Softpaw (feeling much more like Softkit at the moment) sprang out of the brambles and landed in front of the ginger tabby. Her fur puffed out as much as it could, giving the illusion that she was bigger than her petite frame. Softpaw sank low to the ground, ready to pounce at a moment's notice.

"Who are you, cat? And what are you doing in our territory?" She wanted to sound brave. She wanted to sound tough and sure of her claws. She was so small, though, she had to wonder if this strange she-cat was even a little intimidated.

"I-I-I'm Pawvixen....I-I mean VixenClan, I mean, no, I'm Vixenpaw of SkyClan and I'm so sorry that I'm on your land..." Vixenpaw quietly and nervously stumbled over her words. She slowly began backing up into the tunnel under the Thunderpath. She crouched, preparing herself just in case this strange cat attacked. Vixenpaw didn't want to fight...hunting was more fun for her. She hoped this cat was merciful and forgiving.

Blazekit insisted he went with Robinflight and Vixenpaw, he was a kit but also a few days from becoming an apprentice.

OOC: is it okay if Briarheart pops in on Shadowclan's side that way Softpaw isn't exactly alone? he'd Only insist blaze and vixen to go though XD he wouldn't care if Robinflight was on shadowclan territory

Robinflight swatted Vixenpaw's ear as she saw her crouching. "We don't have the time or the place to fight, let's get out of here before anyanyone else shows up." She mewed, looking for any others that would show up. "Fighting on this thing is dangerous okay?" She sighed, referring to the Thunderpath they were dangerously close to.

Briarheart saw his mate across the thunderpath "Robinflight?" he called

Softpaw heard the fear in Vixenpaw's voice, a beat that thrummed in her own heart. This cat didn't want to attack or mean any harm, and that was a huge relief for Softpaw. She relaxed her haunches a bit and shifted her position so she was more settled in the dirt than crouched in it ready to pounce. She looked to the other cat who spoke and had to agree. Fighting near the Thunderpath was dangerous and terrifying. She shuddered a bit and mewed. "Please just...if you just go, maybe...maybe we can forget this?" Just then, a third cat's voice echoed through the brush. Softpaw instantly tensed up again. Was this an ambush? Were they just trying to lure her into being relaxed so they could take her down easier and sneak into WindClan territory undetected? "Who is that? How many of you are there?" Softpaw raised her hackles, bracing herself for anything.
